How's it going, ladies? I find it amusing on the P&CE board they call their challenge the "Rascal Avoidance Check-In". I would love a Rascal scooter, though just for fun, not because I need it.
QOTW: Which would you prefer? To have to eat very strict and healthily or to workout extremely hard for extended periods of time? No "everything in moderation", you must pick one!

Re: IN Get Fit Challenge
Hi, I'm feeling good fitness wise and noticing improvements regularly. I'm so so glad I hit running hard last year. I am slightly obsessed at comparing old and new photos.
QOTW: I've had to do both to lose the 40lbs. If I could just do one to maintain (I hope) I'd stick to working out intensely and eat what I want without watching it. I love food and getting through a long run or lifting heavy weights kinda makes me feel badass so it would be win-win.
Hi, not such a great week for me... I wasn't watching what I ate all that carefully but I was still cycling, pilates and some walking so it balanced out to a no gain/no loss week...
QOTW: I like food too much so it would have to be the working out! Saw a programme on tv last night about 2 people preparing for body building competitions and neither ate carbs during training. The guy even said he craved bread so much at one point that he chewed the bread in his mouth to get the taste and then spat it out... I would be like that!!
HA! I always though the Rascal Avoidance posts were about avoiding getting pregnant (I've never opened one)!
I'm going well, still running 6km twice a week, I'm looking forward to the sea warming up so that I can start swimming too.
QOTW: I'd work out extremely hard, I love food too much to be on a strict diet.
I fell off the wagon.
I had lost 20 lbs. from when I started, but as you can see from my ticker, I gained back 5 lbs. in the past month or so. Basically, just started eating like crap, plus not working out. I'm really bummed about it, but realize I have no one to blame but myself. Sadness.
QOTD: This is how I maintained my weight pretty much my whole life. No moderation for me...just working out 2 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hard core workouts. They kept me in great shape (when I was doing it), but it wasn't sustainable. I think the longest I kept it going was for 6 months...then I would get injured or fall out of habit, and spend the next two years gaining weight and being a fatty. Rinse and repeat...over the course of 10 years or so.
I've been doing really well, although that might be that we biked 110 miles in five days on holiday. But I am wakling to work and back at the gym. So I am pleased.
QOTD: I would actually rather have a strict diet, I am not a foodie. Or be able to afford a personal trainer to push me hard enough! :-)
I wasn't part of this challenge originally, but it looks like all the pastries and butter in this country are going straight to my butt. I am not happy with the jiggle.
Tying into your question, rather than cutting down on the amazingness of French bakeries, I am just going to resolve to work out a heck of a lot more here than I ever did in my life. If this darned rain would stop, I have vowed to start running regularly in the Jardin de Luxembourg. In the meantime, I went to yoga today and will try to go again on Thursday. I am also going to try to sign up for a pool membership and try one of those awesome aquatic classes with all the equipment (treadmills under water, etc.)
My goal is basically to keep eating French food but not have it all go straight to my a$$.
Holy man, that is insanity! Unsustainable for sure.
Want me to add this to the list? Bwhaha.
I guess my goal should be to work out three times a week. MH would want me to do five but that's not happening, the gym bores me too much. Perhaps now that I'll have it so close to home I'll behave... nah, who am I kidding
QOTD - Goes without saying that I'd rather eat very strict than to work out hardcore. Luckily I don't need to do either so it's a win-win
))
Yeah...it was ridiculous, and hard to keep up with (obviously). But, I looked darn good...sigh. I'm now learning the fine art of moderation in all things, which is actually really flipping hard for me. I'm trying to learn to be comfortable only working out 4-5 days a week, and then on the flip side, not eating every damn thing that fits in my mouth. Some days it works, some days not so much.
