Giant mirrors in bathrooms
That is one of those things that annoys me, and the house we bought has sink to lighting mirrors spanning the whole vanity in both bathrooms.
I've never done this before, but can we take those down and bring it to someone to get cut and framed into decent sized mirrors? Is it even possible? Who would I bring it to?
Re: Giant mirrors in bathrooms
There are a few things that you can do.
1) Buy trim and trim the mirrors so that the trim overlaps the edges making them look a little smaller and more finished.
2) Take them down and replace them.
3) If you can a. get them down in one piece and b. find a glass shop, you can get them cut down to size and then use the framing method with trim when you put them back up.
We took down ours, and I bought these mirrors for $40 a piece at Bed, Bath and Beyond. The big mirror did come down in one piece surprisingly, but we ended up smashing it and throwing it away anyway.
I agree.

We have those throughout our house and I've framed one so far and it looks really nice.
We had another glued to the wall that we replaced but in order to take it down, we taped the entire thing then tried to use floss to 'saw' the mirror from the glue (I heard picture hanging wire works well also). It came off in one piece.
I've also seen picture of adding a built-in of sorts to cover some of the mirror and add storage. Of course I can't find a link, but I saw it on pinterest
