My calves would like to succeed
I did body combat saturday and sunday did a12 mile run with a bridge every.***.mile. Today is my weightlifting day and I'm wondering how awful squats will be.

I'm not meaning to sound dumb, snarky, or anything but I'm truly wondering how bridges make the run more difficult. I'm not seeing how running over one would impact my workout. Maybe bridges are different where I live?
My calves feel the same way most days. They seem to get tighter and more sore than any other muscle group in my body. Hope yours feel better soon!

I figured. I wasn't being snarky, it's just the English teacher in me.
Is there anything you can do to prepare for running these bridges? I live in an area with a decent amount of rolling hills, so before I started running outside I would practice on the treadmill by playing with the incline - this seemed to make it a bit easier to deal with.
Andplusalso, is running over a bridge terrifying? I hate driving over them, I couldn't imagine running over them.

Were you able to get in a good work out? I'm still sore from Sunday's race, but think I'm still going to try and do some strength training today.
On a side note, I run in a hilly area and my quads and calves get more beat up from a flat long run. I guess it's all what you are used to! I think I need better technique too. I don't know what the hell my body is doing out there.

Yes, I get that inclines are harder. I live in a hilly area and can't avoid them. However, where I live, most bridges are flat so there is no direct correlation that bridge = hill. Nor does sea level imply flat. The lowest parts or Seattle are at sea level, but it is anything but flat. I know vey little about Florida terrian.
