What will Happen First?
A couple friends and I were having some "what will happen first" questions. Ex. -
What do you think will happen first in the U.S. - female Black President, or a male Asian-American President (Both U.S. born, obviously).
Men's soccer or Women NBA becoming mainstream, like NFL or MLB? (meaning huge advertisers and revenue, fantasy leagues, televised draft, etc.)
I think it was interesting for discussion. But I am a nerd. Feel free to pose your own questions.
I think we will see a black female President first. However, I think there would have to be white female President first. I think our country is still xenophobic, but I hope that will change.
I think Men's soccer will take off first.

I think we'll have an Asian American man President first. Because there aren't enough women period in authority positions that would qualify them in the eyes of voters to be president, and the number of women of color (0 senators of 11 total, 0 governors, of 6 total) are virtually none.
I also think Men's Soccer will be popular, because of the flux in immigrant populations. Soccer is really big in high minority population cities (like DC, LA and Seattle).
Stand up for something you believe in.
Yeah this is pretty much what I was thinking too.
I think we'll see an Asian-American male president before an African-American woman. Because of the reasons Mary already stated and because I think Asian-Americans are sterotyped in ways that would be positive in a presidental campaign and African-American women have the exact opposite sterotypes.
I think soccer will blow up in the US before long. It's keeps getting bigger and bigger with kids every year. Eventually, I think it will become more of a national sport, although I don't think it will ever pass football or baseball.
