I think I want to check it out- anyone else been? Where'd you stay? Is it worth going to?
Re: Williamsburg?
I've been several times, I enjoy it. There's great history and if you like amusement parks, Busch Gardens kicks azz. Kings Dominion is down there too and is also a good park.
I think it's definitely worth going at least once. My dad has a timeshare, so we've always stayed in it when we went.
I live about 30 minutes from there. It's a great town and a good weekend trip definitely. You have Colonial Williamsburg, Historic Jamestown isn't too far either. There is also Busch Gardens and Water Country (depending on what time of year).
There's is hotel row along Rt. 60 and most of the hotels there are newer or recently renovated. There is also the Colonial Williamsburg hotels, Woodlands, Lodge and Inn.
If you have kids, a lot of people also enjoy Great Wolf Lodge, but it's a bit north of the main attractions, closer to Lightfoot.

Been to Colonial Williamsburg twice--As a child I didn't appreciate it very much, but went back a few years ago with DH (who is a major history buff) and another couple, and we really enjoyed ourselves, and I had a much better appreciation for the history. We had some really great food there as well, sorry I can't remember the names of the restaurants.
We stayed at a Hampton Inn. Our friends picked it out--I think there are 2 there and they chose the one with the best tripadvisor reviews. It was fine.
Have fun!
