Where to get "good" moroccan oil?
I know there are several brands and knock-offs but where can I go to buy the really good kind. Thanks!
Re: Where to get "good" moroccan oil?
Are you talking about the hair product?
I use the Morrocan oil brand and love it.
Moroccanoil is a brand of hair care products (shampoo, conditioners, styling stuff) that contain a smidge of something called Argan Oil in them (the trees naturally grow only in Morocco - so some people call it "Moroccan oil"). The actual brand Moroccanoil has products that work well enough for what they are. Most hair salons carry this line. Look for turquoise, orange and white boxes/labels. They are also expanding into a body care line, but I have not heard anything good about those new products.
100% pure Argan Oil on it's own can be downright amazing if you get the real thing, though. Look for one that is cold pressed by hand and NOT deodorized. I can PM you a recommendation if you're interested.

Ha. Sorry about the mystery.
My MIL (and her relatives) make the best Argan Oil I've ever tried. (and I've tried a lot, having been to Morocco quite a few times over the last 10 years.)
Anyway, MIL's is so good that we actually started importing it and are selling it online and in stores. I don't want to be a spammy vendor violating the Nest's TOU, so I PM'd her our link and the link of another company that produces good oil.

Really? That's a bit silly. If someone asks for info and a person sends it, that doesn't sound like a big deal to me. Although, if someone sends random spammy PMs to people that would make sense.
I kind of agree with you, but that's the rules! My husband owns a business that is somewhat bridal related, but I was never able to promote him on TK for this very reason, whether it was on PM or in the threads.

The Nest terms of use is pretty clear on this issue:
No soliciting of any kind on the message boards or in the chat room.I would think PM'ing falls under this umbrella. But it doesn't bother me because it seems like you're an active Nest member. It's not like you signed up to be on the Nest solely for the pushing your MIL's moroccan oil product.

It doesn't bother me either, but as someone who has seen good, legit members be banned for such silliness, I'm just giving morrocojade a heads up so she doesn't fall subject to the same. Morroco you seem useful enough that we want you to stick around ;-). Be careful!!!
