A Humble Abowed's New House
Re: A Humble Abowed's New House
Am I wrong to really like it? lots of work, yes, but I think it has great bones.
But I don't know the backstory on their blog either...
I can't wait to see what they do with it. I think it has awesome potential. I'd love to have space like that to work with - cool architectural details and angles that should be fun to update. I wonder if they'll stick with their modern/classic style or if they'll go with a more natural look since this one has the look and feel of a western home.
To the PP who said something about a chlorine smell...maybe the pool is a salt water pool or can be converted into one.
The only part I wondered about is the safety of living behind a big rock cliff. When I visited Montana, I remember there being big signs saying "watch for falling rocks" next to all the cliffs like that.
I think it has amazing potential. I didn't really read what they wrote, just looked at the pictures. I hope that got a good deal for it so they can make it fabulous.
Planned Executed
I really like it. It is going to be a lot of work but they are good at it. All that sweat equity is going to pay off big time for them on this one.
I love it.
Interesting. I don't read that blog, but it looks like the potential for some cool projects. They have beautiful views!
And I never thought about pp's suggestion of a saltwater pool - if I ever find myself in the position of owning an indoor pool, I'll explore that to avoid the chlorine smell.
There really isn't a backstory. I think she's been blogging for about 2 years. Her H is really handy and a good carpenter. She did get a lot of readers by leaving comments on YHL, but that's not a big deal IMO.
Go Phils!!
I really like it. I think it has great potential and since the pool is not functional, they should be able to change it easily. I think they could do a freshwater pool or a saltwater pool to keep the smell of chlorine out.
I'm really jealous of the pool, actually. I dream of having my own (indoor) pool. But my dream also involves said pool being in its own building on my lots of land I'll never own. I said it's a dream, right?

this...
That is so much space! They have more sq footage in the pool room than my entire house! Rooms that big need a lot of "filler" furniture. That can get expensive.
I never followed them before but I think I'll start now. It will be interesting to see such huge makeover from the beginning.
