Graduation gift for future teacher??

I need some help with ideas please!  I'd like to do something personalized.  Any good ideas or website you can point me to?

Re: Graduation gift for future teacher??

  • This is going to sound dumb, and it's not what you asked for, but when I first started teaching I didn't need personalized stuff - I needed supplies and clothes.  I needed suits to interview in and clothing to teach in and money to get supplies for my classroom.  A gift card to this person's favorite clothing store that can supply work clothes or to staples or office max will probably be appreciated more than a bag or notepads that are personalized with his/her name.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

  • I was given one of those LL Bean canvas totes when I graduated with my Master's. It is large enough to take home lots of grading and has a zipper at the top which is helpful for transporting.

You could have the graduates initials monogrammed on the side for a small fee I believe.

But in all honesty, the best gifts I received were gc's to places like Target for supplies and Ann Taylor Loft for school appropriate clothing. All other small knick-nacky stuff I just put away in a box to never look at again.

  • Storage bins! Bins, bins, bins! Book bins, pencil bins, bins for paper, etc.
  • If it's for an elementary teacher, a selection of books or gift card for them for her library would be great!

  • Honestly, when I was starting out (as others have said) a gift card to a clothing store or to The Container store or Barnes and Noble would have been much more appreciated(and used) then something with my monogram on it.
  • I have a personalized note pad that says "from the desk of Mrs. ---" and I love it and use it often. It's great for sending quick notes to the office or other teachers. Generally though, I think it's kinder to get a gift for the person rather than a gift for he classroom. You don't know what will already be in the classroom. She might have plenty of storage bins or whatever. I'd go with a cute personalized notepad and a gc to the mall or Loft or someplace like that.

  • if she's going for interviews, i would vote for clothing store gc.  if she has a job lined up, a gift card to target, walmart, dollar tree, etc., for classroom supplies.  i love dollar tree for stuff.
