Has anyone seen this before? Hiring of foreigner related
I'm at another plant for work and noticed in their copy room a notice of their intent to hire a non-immigrant foreigner under an H1-B visa that includes his title and salary range. It says on the form this is required to be posted in the work location for at least 10 days. WTF?
Re: Has anyone seen this before? Hiring of foreigner related
In order to sponsor someone for a visa you usually have to prove that you weren't able to find a qualified American or green card holder for the job.

Well if the range says $20-30k and you know from being in the industry that standard is $60-70k.....
We tried to get a visa for me this way, with my wife's mothers company attempting to hire me. We thought it might cut through some red tape as we were getting married anyway.
But if your worry is that people might abuse this system, forget it. It was ridiculously difficult to do, nearly impossible to prove that there was no one in the US that couldn't do the job better, and it was way more complex than just getting a normal K3 visa.
ETA which is what we did - the K3.
