Does either of these things justify pouring myself a glass of wine at 3:12 in the afternoon?
1) I got up at 6. If I'd passed the same amount of hours after getting up at 8 it would be 5 by now.
or
2) I worked out twice today (an hour at palates and 1.5 km worth of laps in the pool) and need to replace lost calories.
Yes, I'm stretching it but there's an almost empty bottle of sauvignon blanc in my fridge that's calling to me.
Re: Important question
I think you could have posted far less valid reasons and I'd still be OK with you having wine at 3 in the afternoon.
You can even say "The bottle's been open for 12 hours and it will go off soon, so I must consume it, so as to not waste it."
And that is valid enough.
+1!
Go for it! Enjoy... I'm jealous...
TL;DR past the first paragraph. Answer:
There's a 5pm rule?
I have often had wine with lunch, and not just since I got to France.
STOP IT!
...anyhow. Drinking is socially acceptable in Spain starting at 6 am when some old folks have a nice coffee with alcohol in it. It starts to be really socially acceptable starting around noon, when you have your pre-meal drink. So - just tell people you're Spanish.
Every bit of this. aMrsin09...you're my kinda gal!
I frown upon alcohol before brunch time, after that, all is ok with me...
Actually, strike that, brandy on pancakes is totally fine, so breakfast is the line. No alcohol before breakfast please, after that you're god in my book!
