The other IN nesties

Maybe, I am going a bit crazy, but did we use to have more IN nesties here? I remember that we use to have more people posting from the ME, India, Denmark, and from Holland. There were some posters that used to post every day.

I wonder what happened to them.

Do you feel like there are less people now?

Re: The other IN nesties

  • It's been dead on here lately.  Definitely less people.
  • Yes, I have noticed some of the regulars have drifted away.  I'm sorry about that, we had a nice bunch.  But I'm glad we have some new people coming in.  Maybe we can get hopping again.

  • I haven't been around that long, so I can't speak to what it used to be like. But it definitely has been very, very quiet over here lately.

Do we need to do a daily FFFC or something?

  • I'm one of the drifters :)  Its hard to find time to post on the computer right now, I can lurk with the best of 'em, but it isn't so easy to post from my iPhone.

    I'll try to post more!

Opera Mini app. The browser makes it so much easier for me to post on my iPhone.

  • I fall into the slacker group that used to post a tone, and then just sort of fell away.  I miss being around here, so I'll do my best to post more.  Unfortunately, I'm now working in an office setting most days a week, so it will be harder for me.  I do lurk a lot though, so I'm still here!

  • I stopped posting a lot on here and more on the facebook page, but I've slowed down on that too. I've been really busy with work, but I'm off for two weeks...so I've been posting more, but once work starts again I might slip away :(. I miss this board though. Let's get it moving!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic Visit The Nest!
  • The board used to be a lot more active, I think we still get a lot of people reading but not so much posting. I just gave up on trying to post on here from my phone or iPad so I read it all the time, but I'm limited to posting when I've got my mac out either at work or at home, when the twins or DH aren't crawling all over me.

I think we had some awesome people that disappeared because of some conflicts ( Amoro, I miss you!) and we had some fairly dramatic people that also left because of some conflicts and I do miss them dearly.

We've got some newbies popping up here and there that are starting to liven the board back up but they also haven't been posting too much. I'd love to hear more about JiggingJessica's experience in China, Violet's mommy's transition to the UK and I can't wait to hear more about Mexican farming and the chica that's moving to India.

And if the Belgium Harry Potter fan would come back well, that would just totally make my day because I found her stories about her inlaws fascinating.

Now I'm off to go post something completely tasteless to lower the grade of the board even more. Yay for me.

  • I just joined yesterday, and am ready to get things hopping again! :) I live in Groningen, the Netherlands. My husband is from California and we have lived together in the U.S. for some years and are now back in my motherland for some years. I am writing my dissertation and have plenty of time to lurk and post (while procrastinating).
  • E is caroling everywhere and pulling up so it's taking me away from posting, it's just too time consuming ( I know that sounds ridiculous!) I'm still here checking in but not as much as before.

  • I read from my phone when I have a few minutes, but I've been trying to get out of the house as much as possible due to the ILs visiting for 3 months. Freedom comes on Friday, so hopefully I can post more :)

I'd love for her to update us too.

  • I haven't been on here much. I've been trying to stay away from my computer more and have been succesful at that. (heck, I grew a whole bunch of plants - I had time for that, and will have fresh veggies this summer! and made/finished my first quilt (really big, heirloom materials from GMIL as a present for MIL).

I still keep up with other social networks through my phone (which I still use a lot) but since the Nest just won't make an app, I hardly visit here.

I'll try to be better, (or worse, slack off at work a little more) and visit you all more often!

  • I read now and again but full-time school, part-time work and my workouts take up most of my time. When I check-in it's usually on my iPhone which can be tricky.
  • I've been a huge slacker lately, but I just don't do anything exciting.

I check in on all of you though!

  • I've been getting less and less frequent a poster since W was born, to be honest, but esp since M came along. I wish I could keep up with things, but it's just not going to happen. :(

Cool - how'd you teach her to sing so early? Wink Sorry, couldn't resist. When I first read your post it took me a minute to realize crawling was probably auto-corrected to caroling.

I've only been around for about a year, so I don't have a lot of comparison. To me it just seems like there are waves of activity and then a couple of days when it's dead, then it gets active again. When I run into people on TB who are international I try to direct them over here to liven it up a bit.

  • I'm not super regular here or on the Bump (IF Vets) where I am "regular"; sorry!  I don't post for a few weeks, then I'm here for a few days, then life catches up & I'm off again.  Sorry.

    Yes.

I've been wondering about this as well. Hey, Boston nesties - did you change names or just disappear!?

  • I used to post on occasion and then lost my password and stopped though I have been lurking.  I've created a new account (sashajm was the old) and will try to post more often.  I'm still in Norway, this time with a permit.
  • I don't have children and am annoyed by a lot of things about the US, so I don't feel like I should be posting much here anymore.

    Woohoo! Congrats.

  • Sorry I haven't been posting any lately. I am just sooooo exhausted. I can't seem to keep myself moving. I have lurked here and there but it's only for a min. Like right now I need to be outside doing laundry and I can't get the energy to do it. Most days I am right there and done and they are dry by now. We just planted our second round of corn and the first ones and the pumpkins have sprouted. We have 4 new baby chickens. 2 are japanese bald chickens. They are bald on their necks. I am so tempted to put sunscreen on all 4 of the japanese chickens. Their little necks get so red when exposed to the sun. My daughter wanted to paint the turkeys toenails yesterday. Her dad does not like our fingernails painted so he would probably throw a gasket if his turkeys were painted. That would be too funny though. I will try to be on here more. I have lots of stories.
