I went off my birth controls pills in November and have been dealing with acne ever since. I never had an issue with it before so I have no arsenal to use. Clearly the products I am using aren't doing much at all. Any product recs are greatly appreciatd.
Would a clarisonic help? Hurt?
Re: Help! Acne question
If your skin can tolerate benzoyl peroxide, I believe it is really effective at least for me, though I am a little sensitive to it. The DDF BP 5% gel with tea tree oil is really great.
For something milder, the Dr. dennis gross/md skincare trifix clearing lotion really helps me. I think it keeps it under control pretty good. It helps them go away pretty quickly.
And finally the Mario badescu healing cream really helps them heal if I have a few stubborn spots.
I've been washing my face with dove soap and/or neutrogena stress control cleanser.. then follow it with mario badescu cucumber lotion (its not a lotion its a toner). This toner still gets makeup off even after I wash my face twice!
Then moisturizing is important and I use murad skin perfecting lotion.
I feel your pain.....My skin was perfect until going off BC 6 months ago.
For me, the Clarisonic has been the best solution. My acne started clearing up within a week of use. I've also had luck with the Murad acne line, but I prefer using the Clarisonic and more neutral skin products.
I used the La Roche Posay acne products when I had stubborn body acne, and it cleared away really nicely! For good!
I've had recent success with the Juice Beauty blemish clearing line. I received a sample of the face wash in my Birchbox last month and was shocked at the results in only a week. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and continue to see results. I love that it's all organic.
Before that I was on a prescription for Clenia. It worked in the past for me, but not so much this time around.
