Shop for me?

I have like 5 things I need outfits for now and I'm a little lost/ overwhelmed.

Outfit 1: Ghostbar in Las Vegas for my birthday in June (read: hot)

Outfit 2: Bachelorette party in New Orleans over Labor Day (read: hot and humid)

Outfit 3: Kirk's HS Reunion in Dallas- Friday night football game

Outfit 4: Kirk's HS Reunion in Dallas- Saturday afternoon picnic and family events

Outfit 5: Kirk's HS Reunion in Dallas- Saturday night reunion (cocktail attire)

I'm busty (about a 12 or L up top) and an 8 on the bottom.  Maxidresses are out for the Dallas events.

Seen anything cute?

  • 1 & 2) What happened to the feisty little black number you showed me the picture of? is that for a different evening in Vegas?

3 & 4) I would definitely just go with jeans, gym shoes and tops, maybe in the school's colors for the football game. I'm sure something you already have would work for either of these events.

    5) I'm gonna vote you wear your super awesome yellow bridesmaid dress...you will clearly be voted most popular wife Wink

I think it is a different evening's dress. And that's a lot of cleavage for New Orleans I think...

I think gym shoes are outlawed in Texas unless you're in the gym itself.  His best girl friend said she was wearing jeans, a belted tunic, heeled boots and lots of jewelry for the game.  And a dress to the picnic.

Sadly the reunion is a month before the wedding, so the dress is unavailable for the viewing atrocity it would surely be.

  • I don't know how you feel about the one-shoulder look, but I'm loving it right now:

  • Ever try renttherunway.com?

Might be a good option for the HS reunion weekend, since you can get a second style for only $25.

Just throwing it out there! I love browsing their site and never have enough occasions to rent all the dresses I'd like to wear.

  • Wow Texas has fancy football games and picnics! If I ever showed up to a Bears game in something other than  jeans and gym shoes the men around us would ask me if I was going to a ball later!

Maybe a cute sundress that could double for the picnic and for NOLA? I have no ideas as to what stores to look at for you, I'm bad at shopping for non-plus sized clothes online.

What about the dresses you bought this weekend? Are any of those picnic/NOLA appropriate or are they more fork and/or casual?

I'm sad that your yellow number can't be worn to any of these events.

  • I think renttherunway could be a really good option for the reunion weekend. You could look for a sundress or casual skirt and top for the picnic and then something coctailish for the dinner. Express, Macys, TJMaxx, or something Forever 21 are my other go-tos for coctail/partyish clothes. I agree with what JA said about football games in the south. At college games, we were dresses. At high school games, you're good in jeans and a cute top and dressy-ish shoes. I wouldn't wear gym shoes.

Also, I don't think there's such a thing as too much cleavage in New Orleans.
