Ohio / Cbus peeps - rec for a waxer?

Heya ladies.

I had an emergency crop up the past couple of days which means I had to cancel my waxing appt for earlier today, and they're not completely booked.

I'm feeling a little bit yeti-ish, especially for wearing a sleeveless dress for the brother's wedding, so does anyone have any recs for someone who does a decent wax (hard wax, not strips, please)?

Many tia!

  • Def def def not the sadistic a-holes at the Aveda school on High Street.  Went for a Brazilian in December 2010.  I'd been getting Brazilians for years.  And OMG.  It normally takes under 20 minutes with hard wax and a waxer who knows her shits.  I was there for over two hours (meter expired and I got a ticket), I was bleeding, I cried at one point, and there was hair left when I finally said, "fwck it; I'm leaving."  Terrible experience.

That place is awesome for pedicures though.  I go monthly.  In fact, I'm going this Saturday.

Thanks for the tip. I'm thinking of looking into this place: http://www.glowbycarey.com/Home.html

(girl needs some serious help with her site, but whatever)

I've never used Nufree, but I've heard good things about it...

I do need a mani / pedi, too, though - so i might check out Aveda. Anyone in particular you'd recommend?

The place I go uses Nufree...  I'm really pale and I don't get as much skin irritation with it.

They're all students, so you don't usually get the same person more than twice or maybe three times, because they graduate.  Brittany is doing my toes on Saturday.  If you do go, ask who the student will be when you make the appointment.  If they say Dakoda, ask to switch.  He fwcked up my toes terribly in February.  He forgot steps and I had to remind him, and he did things in the wrong order, and crap like that.  Literally every other pedi there has been amazing though, and at $25 including keeping the bottle of OPI, it's a steal.

  • Oooh maybe I'll go to Aveda on Monday...I've been pondering a post race pedi.

I'm drawing a blank on other waxing places though. Lemme ponder this.
