Is there a big different between...

tea-length and cocktail-length.  My bff is getting married in May (very quickie wedding, they just got engaged) She is letting the bridemaids pick our own dresses she just wants them to be tea-length.  I found one I really like but it is considered cocktail-length.

They look about the same to me, is there a big difference?

Re: Is there a big different between...

  • When I hear tea length, I think like midcalf, but cocktail length is more around the knee (right above or below).

The best thing is to ask the bride, she may have a different idea what tea length is!

  • Agree - Tea length is longer than cocktail.
A big old middle finger to you, stupid Nest.
  • Thanks ladies.  I will check with the bride, hopefully she won't care because she is being super lax on everything else (everyone gets to pick out their own dress, she doesn't care what color it is as long as it is a solid color and in the pastel family).  Maybe a few inches in length won't matter to her.

I am having a heck of a time finding a tea length I like on short notice.
