WTF MIL.

I should email back and say "I'm not sure but I have friends coming to the states. Any good hotel recommendations for them?"

Ha! It sounds like she meant well.

Kind of reminds me of when a German asked where I was from, I gave my standard "Kind of close to Chicago," and he said, "Oh, I had a friend who did a year abroad there once! ... Or maybe it was New York... Well, somewhere around there, anyway." Huh?

Even when I would say Chicago for where I was "from" I felt a little like they had no clue.

But I find it hilarious that your MIL emailed you for that. haha

My MIL emails us to go meet people she knows who travel to the Netherlands. Like hey it would be nice if you can hang out with my former coworker (or something like that). Drives me nuts! Maybe you should email saying something like "can you be more specific about where in Germany, it's kind of a big place? "Or yeah just send any hotel rec lol.
