I saw your blog post on traveling home and tried to comment but for some reason it wouldn't let me!

Here is what I was going to comment:

How long are you gone for? Would you consider using a US formula? We switch when we travel and it has never been a problem, but I don't know if he is on special formula. Definitely bring more bottles than you think you will need - but another option is to bring a few bottles and extra nipples, and just rinse out the bottles with hot water in between uses and use new nipples, which will save some space. You probably don't need nursery water if you use filtered water in the US. Change diapers on the floor or bed, just buy a mat or blanket you can use on the floor or bed.

Bring a stroller, an umbrella one that folds up easily. I would either borrow a car seat or buy a convertible one that you can leave there and use when you go back. Britax can be used from birth (not the Frontier but the Marathon or Boulevard)  Do you wear him? If so I would bring that to the airport as well.

It will be fine, I promise!

  • Oh wow, frlcb, thank you!  This was so kind and helpful!

We have a Britax B-Mobile stroller that I'm thinking of bringing, because its really lightweight.

I like the idea of the bottles and the extra nipples.  And, I also never thought of using a different formula!  I didn't know that was an option.  That would save us a ton of space!

    Thank you again :)
