Run or rest?

I'm coming down with something. I'm congested with some sore throat. I'm out of town for work. .I ran 12 sunday, 4tue & 4wed. Do to meetings today might be the best /only day for me to get 8 miles in this week. The half is in 10 days. Wwyd? not 100%, but I took some meds and could probably bust it out.

  • I've found that the answer is almost always rest. Do you have a race soon?  Could you do a shorter run than 8?

    My half is Sunday, and I've rested yesterday AND today b/c of a wonky knee.

  • I agree, rest. 

    I've had basically the same thing as you since Monday, and haven't really rested, and now I think it's coming back to bite me in the azz.  I felt better yesterday so I worked out, and now today I feel much worse.

  • I think I know its best to rest. But the next few days are stressful and the anxiety in me want to just go run it out. Plus today I can go rub in the daylight. After this I have to get up and run early am in the dark in an unfamiliar city alone. (I found a good path, its just still less than ideal imo). Iow, I want to go today it just may not be what's best for me.
