Fathers day

What are some interesting ideas you have come up with for fathers day while living abroad? This willbe my Hs first fathers day and I want to make it extra special. It's always been a day he has struggled with because he never knew his own father and this has feuled him to be an amazing daddy to our DS. Any suggestions on ways to honor/celebrate him?

    Last year I planned a nice breakfast of his favorites and an outing. We went and took a boat ride around one of the lakes. There's was a Turkish festival in the town the boat ride started, and that was cool too. I took a ton of photos. We finally called our own dad's at the subway stop on our way back home only to find out that Father's Day was actually the following weekend. So, we did nothing special on Father's Day. Well, on actual father's day I remembered to have my son wear his "I love Dad" onesie.

    Maybe too boring but the first thing that comes to mind for me is relaxation and fun. Maybe you guys can go somewhere for a picnic or is it too darn cold? Cook his favorite things, do his favorite activities? Bake him a special cake?

    DH and I are such slackers when it comes to this kind of stuff. An outing that he would enjoy sounds like a great idea, though, and cooking his favorite meal. That's the kind of thing my DH would appreciate, anyway.

    This will be DHs first fathers day with DD so I wanna try to make to make it special for him. Last year I made pics of DD holding letters to spell out dad and sent them to him.
