Another serger post

Oh my goodness! I freaking love this thing! Thank you girls for convincing me I needed one. :D

I have played around with it a lot more and I'm learning a lot! I am making a crib skirt like this for Adair's room except in white and it is SO much easier on the serger! I was planning on using the rolled hem foot for the serger, but found it easier to just have my regular sewing machine going for the rolled hem and the serger for the ruffling, since I really didn't know how many layers of ruffles I would need (and I didn't want to have to reset all those settings on the serger).

I am just loving it though!

Re: Another serger post

  • That crib skirt is really adorable - so glad you like the serger!
  • LOL, This why I have two sergers! I'm addicted to the fast/ professional sewing features.

  • Two sergers?  Can I ask which and why two? Did you have one and then get a better one and keep the older? Just wondering.  I was drooling over the Babylock Evolution when I dropped my vacuum off at the Sew-Vac this weekend hehe.
  • I have friend with two and she keeps white thread in one and dark (probably black) in the other.  I envy her.  Not that changing thread is hard, but to have it ready to go--that's awesome!

  • Y'all are making me REALLY want to get a serger! The only person I can sew for is myself though (at the moment). :- But then again, it's a baby boom in my circle of friends...I've been making baby gifts like crazy!
  • I am going to be getting a serger when I hit my 50 lb weight loss mark (trying to motivate myself).  I am excited for it, I am glad you like yours so much
