Hydration Belt Rec's

I'm looking at getting a different hydration belt and curious what everyone recommends. I typically run 3-6 miles with my dog so I would need at least 2 bottles, one for me and one for her.

 Thanks!

Re: Hydration Belt Rec's

  • I bought a fanny pack type belt at TJ Maxx this weekend.  It has a pouch and the bottle sits at an angle to eliminate bounce.  It was ok but not great.  It would have been fine for a hike or walk but it was still a little bouncy and my back was so hot & sweaty under the pack!  I have one of those doggy water bottles that has the fold down narrow dish.  I'll drink out of the actual bottle and squirt some into the dish for the dog (my dogs won't drink out of the bottle).  I just hate holding onto a bottle but the hands free ones look so hot.  Sorry, that's not much help!  TJ Maxx did have other styles including some fuel belts, so you might look if you have a store near you.

I really like my Nathan Speed 2.

I have the Nathan Speed IV (same thing - just the 4 bottle version) and love it. It's super comfortable and doesn't bounce at all.

I've been up in the air about wether to get the 2 bottle or the 4 bottle Nathan.  My fear with the 4 bottle is that it might be too bulky or heavy when all bottles are full.  Do you feel that way at all when you have all 4 bottles full?

Same here!  I actually never use the back two (although I probably will start to on longer runs this summer).  My only worry is that my arms might brush against the back 2 bottles, but I'm not sure they really would as, like I said, I've never used them.  I just got this version b/c it was $10 brand new on e-bay.
