Good morning!

Happy Thursday!

This week has flown by for me...but I suppose that is what happens when I'm on vacation.

No big plans for today.  I need to get in a walk in a little bit, but that is about all I need to do.  Maybe I'll rake out the gardens if I'm really ambitious...

What are you all up to today?

  • Good morning!

    The boss is back today, so I fully expect him to come in here like a hurricane and be all up in everyone's business and generally crazycakes.  {aaaand he's here now and already at it...}

Tonight, I am playing trivia at the National Press Club, which is awesome, since I haven't be able to go in months.

  • I got quite a bit of housework done last night so I'm feeling pretty good today. It should be a typical day at work today. Tonight I'm baking a cake for cakepops that I'm going to make tomorrow. This will be my first attempt at cakepops so I'm hoping they turn out well.

  • Hello ladies!  I went bowling last night with my group from work, which was a lot of fun.  I love bowling and haven't been in years.  I somehow managed to win both games, too!  But we were out later than I wanted, so I'm tired today.

I'd love to be able to sleep in this weekend, but we're heading to Amsterdam tomorrow night for a few days.  We haven't been yet, and I'm looking forward to seeing the tulips.  I just hope that the weather is better there than here in London - I'm over this rain and cold.

Tonight I have to pack and try to make a dent in the endless list of to-dos I have.

  • Last night we had a wonderful baseball practice and then I got home and did some cleaing and watched survivor. DH was acting like a baby last night and got mad for nothing so to avoid me saying something to him I just went to bed about 10 even though I really wanted to watch another show on my dvr.

Dh starts back to work today and Jordan has a baseball game. My sister is going to go with me and we are going to run by and see my grandmother for a few minutes before we head to the game.

  • Morning ladies!

Last night was uneventful.  Much of the same.

Today is a daycare day, so I am sure the boys will be a little fussy when we walk through the door.  DH is off tonight before he works the weekend, so I am hoping for a little family time since we won't have any this weekend.

Today I am going back to WW. I have missed the past 2 weeks because I didn't want to face the scale, but it's getting out of hand and I need the reality check.  I really need the refocus.

    Have a great day ladies.

  • Good morning

Today has been hectic. It started off with a counter installation that was supposed to happen yesterday. Now I'm off to measure a conference room for a make up company. I'm excited to do something girly. :)

In other news I'm excited that I'm back to running/working out and weight loss. I can tell my muscles are stronger and I've lost 2.5 lbs! I'm super happy about it.

  • Good morning!

Last night was really nice and quite. I got in another great workout and then grilled up some steaks. After dinner I relaxed a little bit and talked to my sister on the phone.

I was hoping for a nice low key day at work but my bosses mediation was canceled so now he's in the office with a cleared calender, which is never a good thing. I have a Young Professionals Luncheon to attend and they have a guest speaker so I'll at least be able to get out of the office for a while.

No big plans for tonight. J is going to stay at the shop late and work on fabricating the granite for our fire place. He was supposed to do it weeks ago but has been to busy with customer jobs. I think I'll try to get in another good workout and then I'll starting demo on the old fire place tiles!

  • Good morning.  Dropping Facebook has been hard to do but I have already been way more productive when I am studying.  Last night DH had to work late so I watched bad tv and did homework.  I feel bad for him, they only have 7 workers for 14 kids, he told me that they have something like 280 hours to fill.  It is great for OT and he also got raise.

We also made a the decision to buy.  The information that people were asking for on rental application that we didn't feel comfortable with (like bank information), also by the time we paid the deposits, first months and last months rent and all the rent for the summer we would have our down payment.

Tonight is more homework.  I also want to wine because my allergies are killing me and I started my period.  All I want to do is sleep.

  • Good morning,

Today I'm going to try and do a little less around the house since I've found myself extremely sore at the end of the day.  After we fed Madison at 7:30 this morning, DH was getting his report cards ready so I asked if he could keep Madison in her swing in his office so I could take a nap.  I thought I would only be down for an hour and I ended up getting a solid 2 hours of sleep and it felt glorious.  I even slept in our bed as opposed to on the memory foam on her nursery floor.

I'm planning on putting away some washed clothes, unloading the dishwasher and maybe going online to apply for my maternity benefits.  Sounds like a challenging day!  Oh, and feeding my baby every 3 hours.

DH has to go into school today and submit his midterm marks for report cards so I'm going to be alone for the first time with Madison for probably about 2 hours which sounds kind of scary but we'll try and get by.  I will probably have to change and feed her within that span, too.  His drive is about 45 minutes each way and since he hasn't been sleeping either, he's going to ask his Dad to drive him out which does make me feel better.

Also, my grandpa is not doing well.  They are really only doing comfort measures now.  He had a massive stroke and he is in isolation because they think he might have c difficile and he has some kind of blood infection (source unknown) so I can't even really go out to see him.  I can't risk catching something and passing it to Madison.  My Dad doesn't want me to go up but my pregnancy hormones are getting the best of me and I worry what other family members think (I know I shouldn't).  He isn't really coherent anyways so if I went, it would be for my benefit and I just saw him  2 weeks ago before he went into the hospital again and I'm at peace with that.  My Dad show my grandma pictures of Madison and I think she understands so that's all that matters to me.

  • Good afternoon!

Stupid internet has been stupid.  Right now I'm just waiting on the tech guy to come and fix my modem.

So far today I've applied to incorporate a business for Derek and been to the doctors.  Rather productive I guess!  Derek's doing a test installation for a potential new job today, which is exciting, and then working at the other job until goodness knows what hour.  The bosses decided that the guys had to work the afternoon shift for the rest of the week.  The only good thing about that is that he doesn't have to take the day off to do this test install.  The crappy thing is that he left the house at 6:30 this morning and probably won't be home until midnight.

The rest of my day looks pretty low key.  I think I'll attempt to install the carseat and talk a walk to the grocery store.  It's glorious out right now!

Also, what did the doctor say about the BP?

  • Lots of thoughts and vibes to your grandpa, Beth.

Afternoon! I just got back from getting waxed and having my nails done. Also hit the bank so I can spend indiscriminately. :) Ready for vacation (well, sort of--still have to pack)! Also managed to squeeze in a workout, but not the long run I'd been hoping for.

The rest of the day I have some last-minute things to do like laundry, putting in a job app (with my company, but another department/building--wish me luck!), and pushing my last review website things off my plate. Laundry's probably up next.

Tonight we'll finish packing, make sure we have all the information we need, and then relax. We spent last night trying to decide what books to bring (we read a lot of the same stuff, but everything he wants to read I've read already, and vice versa). Don't think we'll be minimizing the book packing.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Also, what did the doctor say about the BP?

    Thanks, Tristan.

I don't see a doctor until my 6 week follow up.  Ugh, the nurse at the follow up was terrible.  We were talking and she was saying how I had no problems with hypertension during pregnancy and so I interjected that it was high after delivery and that my OB wanted her to recheck it.  She gave me a hard time and said it didn't say that anywhere on the chart and didn't even want to hear me when I told her how high it had been.  I had been checking it at home with MILs machine and it was high all Tuesday evening and early Wednesday.  Several times on Wednesday it was in the normal range again (which it hadn't been since Thursday) and when she checked it it was 'normal' (I still say a little high) and she said I'm fine.  I see my OB in 6 weeks and she said if I'm concerned I can call him and see if he wants me to get it checked by someone before then.

Mark had taken off with Madison and another nurse right before this to weigh her and he came in at the tail end of it and could tell I was going to cry.  I was just so frustrated that NO ONE had been listening to me.  Things seem fine and I'm grateful but I'll just keep an eye on it when we go to the drugstore and things and follow up with my family MD if I'm concerned.  I think what is super awesome is you could tell I looked like I was going to cry and this nurse couldn't give a shiit.  She just kept going and rushing.

I have dropped another 3-4 pounds of water weight at this point so I think my body just does not tolerate those extra fluids.

Ugh.  I am annoyed at the nurse for you.  I hate when I feel rushed at a doctor's appointment...I don't even mind waiting in a doctor's office since it makes me feel better about knowing that if I have questions/concerns the doctor/nurse won't be rushing me out either.  But I'm glad that the BP and fluids are dropping...hopefully you'll feel more yourself and at ease soon.

  • My boss is leaving for a week, so I have a stack of things to do on my desk. Thankfully I was able to sit him down for a while today to go over form letters and get some signatures I need before he goes. I have a feeling I'll run out of things to do with him gone, which means lots of legal research. bleh. Hopefully it's some interesting things and not just monotonous time wasters. We shall see.

So grateful tomorrow is Friday, but super annoyed this weekend will be cruddy weather. The weekends are the only free time I get now, or late at night, which sucks.
