What's everyone up to today? I have a new playgroup I'm going to try out that I'm leaving for in a few minutes. Tonight one of my H's US colleagues will be here and we're joining him for dinner. I have to make some attempt to clean just in case they come here first.
QOTD: What's your favorite flower?
Re: Good Morning
It was overcast and off and on rainy around here today, so I did a load of laundry, which is hanging to dry on the rack in my living room and caught up on some reading. I got a letter from my grandmother in the mail, so I need to work on replying to her sometime soon. I'm deep in her Mother's Day present so I will have to remember to not ruin the surprise.
QOTD: Daffodils. I am so glad they bloom around my birthday here. Before I moved here, I got photos and photos of the hill of daffodils. Now he brings home as many as he can pick.
Morning! Another day of work and life. The repair guy came to fix my dryer this morning...of course it woudn't make the noise when he was there. He said it's fixed, so hopefully it's ok.
QOTD: Peonies! Love them.
Woke up, shipped DD off to school, went to the grocery store to stock up, came home, cleaned my yoga mat, looked through the 120 pictures friends posted on Facebook of their recent visit to see us here over Easter, opened the nest and here I am. I have a heck of a lot of work to do and am procrastinating like nobody's business.
QOTD: Tulips make me happy.
Morning! I have a busy day today but I am still sick and the weather sucks here.
QOTD: Gerber Daisies
I worked from home today and G was home with gastro (which I think had FINALLY gone away thank god). So it was quite a boring day and rainy out - we got out for a 15 minute walk which was nice, before it started raining on us. Oh well - tomorrow's Friday!
QOTD: calla lily
I'm still battling my 3-week congestion, but I made it to work this morning. Tonight I should be cleaning the apartment, but I'm tempted to curl up for a night of relaxation and recuperation instead.
QOTD: I really like roses once they open up and spread their petals out. But since so many roses are sold all closed up, I tend to like peonies better off the shelf.
Not much exciting going on today. Lots of cleaning. Yay!
QOTD: I like gerber daisies and peonies.
Hello!
Went for a run this morning, just finished cleaning up. It's MILs last day here so this afternoon I'll prepare a nice dinner for her.
QOTD: Forget-me-nots, I love their colour.
Not much going on here either. The weather is awful and so I had a hard time getting out and about. I want to run today and explore some more of town while running (regardless of the weather-- common be strong). I really need to work on my dissertation. Lately I have been totally freaked out by how to structure all the text I have already written and what it is I actually still need to write (I am not sure where to take the story). So I set myself 1 bite size task (otherwise I slip into overwhelmed, desperate and paralyzed mode and just don't work on it at all) and that is to look at a book and the notes I took on it and see if I have all the info I need from it for this section I wrote that I need to expand. Hope that after looking at the book and notes I can easily write some more on the section. Tomorrow I have a phone meeting with my adviser so hopefully by next week I really know what to do (not feel so overwhelmed anymore). Besides dissertating I need to clean up the house a bit (I think it needs a vacuum and the kitchen could use a rag). Tonight I want to watch some Criminal Minds with my husband. I love watching creepy, scary, suspenseful things with him -- crawl into his arms.
QOTD: I just love fresh flowers. I have them on the table all the time. Currently, tulips are in season and so I buy a lot of tulips but I love so so many other flowers as well.
eh, I worked, it stunk. BUT, we have come up with a routine. Who ever has the day off, they are responsible for dinner. H has had diner duty for the past three nights :-) and since I work late the next two night, he;s on his own for those too. I'm liking this.
I am also trying to be a good wife. H was cutting his hair and the guide comb fell off the razor. I hear a "honey, come tell me how bad this is". I am trying to refrain from posting the picture of the bald spot on FB,
QOTD: Gerbera Daisy, Peonies, Orchids
Afternoon! We packed up the car, collected parcels from the post office (books!) and drove to the southwest of Ireland for a 3 night break! Sunny down here now but I'm sure we'll get rain and hail fairly soon... We rented a house so have a bit of space which is great with N with us.
QOTD: I like lots of flowers but I think I'll go with white amaryllis - I had 3 stems tied together with 'pearls' as my wedding bouquet and when I see them it always reminds me if that great day. And I like snowdrops too because it means spring is on the way
Morning. I leave in a bit for my appointment with my new OB here to see whether I need a D&C. Otherwise not much going on.
QOTD: Lilies. I love lilies, and as soon as we get a more permanent house with a garden, I'm going to plant a whole bunch of them.
Good Afternoon! Today I'm busy with work until late at night. Right now I'm on break and catching a bit of fresh air near central park.
QOTD: I adore Sweet William and all types of orchids.
I'm relaxing. I walked around Chicago yesterday for 6 hours and my shoes didn't have enough arch support. So my whole body is sore and tight. When DH get's home we are watching The Muppet movie.
QOTD: Hydrangeas and Tulips
