I believe it was only 40% off yesterday and in store only. From today until it ends (can't remember when that is) I think it's 30% off (and that may be in store and online).

they didn't do 40 pct. this time. yesterday it said only 30 pct. for cardholders in store or online. There was no discount offered yday to those without a card. Today cardholders still get 30 pct. off, and those without a card can get 20 pct. off.

The emails and mailer I got said they had 40% off in store only yesterday

the emails i got yesterday all said 30 percent off and when i went to their web site it said 30 pct. i checked at various times during the day too and it never changed.

It was 40% off for card holders in the Seattle area yesterday. The line was so long it wasn't worth the extra 10% to me. I plan on going back tonight for 30% off.

i'm not a cardholder, but I got emails to 2 different accounts yesterday and both of them said 30 percent off in store for cardholders. I'm in the NY area so maybe that's why? Just odd.

Actually, a lot of stores do that. For instance, there are 2 malls near my house in NJ. They are within a 10 minute drive of each other. One is very high end, even has valet parking. The other is more of an average mall. On multiple occassions I've gone to the Loft store at both malls and the one in the high end mall has not discounted as much as the other mall.

It was only 20% off in Bellevue today, but it was tidy, well stocked and dead empty. (I was there an hour ago. )

I'm saying that I don't think GAP Inc in particular does this in email. I know a lot about their direct marketing program.
