I am thankful for the nice weather we have had this week.
I am thankful for DHs and my health.
I am thankful my neighbor gave us dinner last night. We had given her some ribeyes we got from my in laws--they are farmers--and she was grilling them last night. We were out and she shared one with us and then later she brought over salad and fruit. DH and I were going to eat frozen pizza so it was a nice surprise.
Re: Thankful Thursday
I am thankful to work with people are are supportive and kind. My last position wasn't like that, and I feel so empowered in my position now.
I am thankful for the 13 years I got with my dog. This week has sucked, but I know it was for the best.
I'm thankful DH has the weekend off. (Planting season = 15 or more hour days!)
This makes all the difference!!! My previous school/middle school position was depressing to go to work everyday, because it was not a supportive environment and the kids (in every class, not just mine) picked up on it. No one (students or staff) had school spirit at all. The school I was in this year was a complete 180 turn, and made going to work so much more enjoyable. I miss them (can't wait to go back in a few weeks!)
I'm thankful that I've stayed relatively healthy with this new long term position. Usually I get a sick a lot at the elementary level, but nothing besides allergies so far (*knocks on wood*)
I'm somewhat ashamed to be thankful that one of my students will be serving a one day suspension tomorrow. (somewhat because I'm in 5th grade) But this means the dynamic tomorrow will be so much calmer and the other students will be so much more cheerful and attentive tomorrow as a result.
I'm also happy that the end is in sight- after tomorrow, 3 more weeks! (The reason I'm excited for this is that the following two weeks I'll be subbing/visiting my 8th graders and the awesome staff there!)
I am thankful for the huge smiles and slobbery "kisses" I get from DD when I get home from work or when she wakes up in the morning. It's nice to know she knows who I am and loves me.
I am thankful for DH being there when I feel very alone (we are 1st of our friends with a baby, a few other are SAHMs or peers from my classes, and they are on very different schedule than I am so getting together is hard).
