If you have a BOB stroller - help me?

My BOB is set to arrive soon!  Baby is only 3 months though. He's really long and I can see that he may outgrow his infant seat soon so I don't want to have to buy an infant adapter if I don't have to.

What's the earliest I can use the BOB to power walk with him WITHOUT the infant seat?  Your experience? When did you start jogging with the baby?

Thanks!

Re: If you have a BOB stroller - help me?

  • We started taking them for walks in the Bob around 4 or 5 months. We put those "snuggler" things in it - like the thingies for carseats - for extra support. I started running with them between 6 and 7 mo.
  • Both of my older kids were about 4 months when I put them directly in the BOB with out a car seat carrier. I didn't run with it until 5 months or so. It reclines enough that you can use it right away for walks. My thought on running was to wait until they can sit up unassisted. I think the manual says 6 months.

  • Same for me, I starting jogging with her in the BOB around 6 months.  I used rolled-up receiving blankets to keep her in place.

  • I put my oldest in a jogger when she was about 4 months old.  I wasn't running at that point so I felt OK about it.  I tried to be mindful of the bumpiness of the roads b/c I wanted to keep her little brain safe (FWIW, she is a very smart nearly 5 year old so I didn't do any permanent damage)!

  • We also did not get an infant adapter and used a snuzzler in the Bob for extra support. It worked well in the reclined position.
