What's your latest fitness purchase?
I love how excited I get when buying new workout gear. It's a rush that keeps on giving.
Not too long ago I bought new running shoes (Mizunos - I love them!!) and I get excited every time I get to work out. Then I just purchased a Garmin Watch that should be here next week. I can't wait for it to come!!
Hubby is not thrilled with the money I spend but it's our health and hobbies we're talking about here!! I told him that he should just be thankful I'm not a cyclist because of how much that costs
Anyway, what are you expecting? And what are your significant others feelings toward your fitness gear?
Re: What's your latest fitness purchase?
I just bought a moisture wicking shirt at wal-mart for $5. Score. : )
DH doesn't love how much money I spend on it, but I keep telling him, the more I spend on working out and eating right, the less we'll end up spending on fertility treatments if I can get my PCOS under control myself. Besides, it's still less than he spends on cigarettes. Once I told him that, he shut up.

I haven't bought in a while, but I am currently dreaming of Zumba shoes.
We are in the process of buying DS a bike (see post below), which isn't for me, but is a family fitness purchase.
I think the last thing I bought a was actually something my mom bought for me when I was admiring it at the mall- a workout tank top from Lulu. Its been months and I can't remember what was before that.
ETA: DH's comment is usually something like "really, another workout shirt? Don't you have 3 already?". I have figured out that I like and wear my lulu shirts way more than any others, so I am at a place where I would rather have 3 nice ones, and wear them over and over, and not keep accumulating so-so ones that I don't wear much bc they don't fit right.
I really really really want a new garmin, I think my old one is broken and not keeping a good pace anymore. That will be my next, or my tattoo will be the next.
My last was a pair of Puma trail shoes that I love to death.
2012 Goal: working towards pre-pregnancy speed!
04/15 KI Metric Marathon/16.3 m (2:05:55, 7:43 pace)
05/06 Frederick 13.1 (1:41:09)
11/04 NYCM
Ditto. Sigh.

I had no idea they made Zumba shoes. Are they different from cross trainers?
I know what you mean about work-out clothes... mine always seem to shrink or start fitting weird. And I LOVE buying new workout clothes - even more than I like buying new non-workout clothes.

I just ordered some Nike Frees this morning. I wanted something other my running shoes to wear to the gym.
I'm fairly new to this work out thing, so there have been some up front costs, but all my clothes have been from Target or Costco, so I don't feel that bad. I don't mind buying good shoes and cheaping out on clothes.
I think H cares more about the time that working out takes away from our family (which I try my best to minimize) then the money that I spend. Or maybe I just feel more guilty about the time.
Body Glide
I ran out earlier this week and did a 7 miler without it - I still have the reddest chafed spot under my arm. Ouch.
2012 Races: 3/18 Shamrock Shuffle 5k; 4/14 E.R. Race for Autism 5k (PR! 25:58); 6/9 Riudoso Sprint Triathlon; 6/24 Chunky Monkey 10K; 7/29 Cochiti Lake Olympic Triathlon; 9/16 Chips & Salsa 1/2 Marathon; 10/21 Duke City 1/2 Marathon; 12/2 Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon in Vegas!
I have a horrible lulu addiction, especially living a mile from the outlet..
So my most recent purchase was Monday. My yoga mat was totally trashed so I went to lulu to splurge on a pretty, new one.. and also came out with a tank and dance jacket.. oi. :P
Adventures in My Kitchen
Booked flight and hotel for the OOT trail marathon I'm doing in June, paid the entry fee for a local marathon in a few weeks, and bought trail running shoes (60% off on clearance), a set of kettlebells, and a new (mountain) bike, which was a belated Christmas present. Thankfully, we both share these hobbies, so there were no debates.

:::Our Adoption Journey:::
Evan James was born 1/24/13 and matched with us 2/20/13. The LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!
My most recent was my running shoes. I got a fantastic deal on them, so I'm super stoked.
DH is fine with my purchases. I don't go crazy overboard, and he knows it's my main hobby. He has his computers, I have my fitness.
My latest was entering the lottery for the NYC marathon. It was basically throwing away $11 since the chances of winning are very slim (8%).
I also bought some new under armor shorts and a tank last week. They cost me ~$80 which isn't too bad since I have a hardcore lulu addiction that needs to be cooled down. The lulu tank I really want is nearly $60... I also plan on signing up for a few fall races this week depending on whether or not I get into the NYC marathon.
