inspection tomorrow...advice?
-->
I am so excited!

But also nervous...this is the first home we are buying and the first time we've made it this far into a contract to get an inspection. The house is perfect for us. If you own your home, how did your inspection go? Did you have any major problems and if so, did you go through with it and/or did the seller take care of the issues? Our house is 119 years old, but in great shape and been updated in all the right places. I'd love some advice! Thanks!
Re: inspection tomorrow...advice?
I think inspections are pretty informative. All of the inspections I've been on they've had good information on maintaining a home, and other little tid bits of info.
Every situation is different, and you'll just have to wait and see what the inspector comes up with.
Inspections are very thorough and will probably go into much more detail than just what you can see as far as updates.
My advice would be not to panic! When the inspector is going through the house you might feel like it's going to fall apart on you at any second, at least that's how I felt!
Our inspection came back 3 "big" issues, the estimates I received were for about 11k of repair costs. The sellers decided to give us a cash back credit at closing for 6k. We decided it was fine with us because we can make the repairs we want (1 issue will not be addressed by us for a few years).
Also, make sure you ask any questions you think of while you have the inspector there so they can look into the issue and include it in the report for you.
