oh my goodness- 16 & pregnant
Just caught up on my dvr & watched the one with Alex & Matt. Cannot get over what a loser that guy was!!! I hope he does both Alex & the baby a favor & stays out of their lives completely, YIKES!!!
Re: oh my goodness- 16 & pregnant
I am in the minority on this episode. I feel bad for Alex, but her boyfriend (while a loser for his drugs/partying) established that they couldn't afford the baby and that the best option was adoption. She knew what he was before she had the baby. She chose to keep the child and she needs to live with that choice and be able to raise that baby without the help of him as he established he wasn't ready.
I disagree. It takes two people to have sex. She was on the pill. She looked into adoption and couldn't do it. Does that mean he gets off free? No it's his baby too. I do think her expectations are high with him but it doesn't mean he shouldn't have to support the baby.
This is pretty much how I feel too. Alex was never going to let her baby be adopted, she just said she was considering it because of her mom. If she had been taken to see an adoption counselor, it would have been a very different story.
I hated that she kept trying to make herself seem so responsible with her 2 jobs, but she wasn't responsible enough to get Plan B or make ANY kind of plans for that baby.
Ditto you are responsible to have sex why not do the same take care of your child dumbass.

Then take him for child support and leave it at that. I don't believe in forcing a man or a women to be involved in a child's life. It should have been a decision made by both. You can't expect someone who can't take care of himself to take care of a baby just because you all of a sudden (which I agree with the pp that she knew from the beginning she wasn't doing adoption) decide to keep the baby. You are correct it takes 2 to make a baby and therefore it takes 2 to make the decision on what happens to the baby.

I didn't see the episode. Can someone explain to me why she needed Plan B if she was on the pill.
And I have to admit that I seriously give a side eye to a lot of these teenagers who claim to have been on the pill when they got pregnant.
Even if she does take him for child support, she can still have the expectation that he will have some role in his child's life. Just because he has decided to check out does not mean that his obligations were met.
