Friday Confessions/Randoms
I confess I've never seen all of Titanic. I only watched like the first 45 minutes because my grandparents' dog was in the boarding scene and then I think I fell asleep.
I'm gettin my hairs did today. At The Best Little HairHouse. This should be fun.

Re: Friday Confessions/Randoms
1. SCC- that is just SAD! Go see Titanic, NOW!
2. I got to meet the people we're going on the cruise with (H's coworker and coworker's wife) last night. They invited us to their (sweet azz) house for dinner. And they were AWESOME! I know we're going to have a total blasty blast with them. And I was hardcore buzzed by the time I left their house. We picked our excursions while we were there. I can't wait... only SIX DAYS!
3. I'm having SUCH a hard time concentrating on Don Quixote. And I have to have The Dante Club finished for 11:30am tomorrow. I think I'll be staying up all night tonight after TIP BC!

I don't have anything on my calendar until a meeting from 3-4:30 so I'm probably going to drive over to Target and wander around on lunch just so I'm not stuck in the office.
We took my cat to the vet yesterday, which was the first time we've had him in the car since we got him. We thought the double ended explosion on that first trip was a fluke because he was stressed. It's not. When you put my cat in a carrier and drive him somewhere he poops. I'm kind of disappointed in him... but also kind of prefer that to kitty puke. (I'm sorry, that's gross, I know. I just need to talk it out.)
imoan, I really like the new blog link in your siggy.
I also sympathize. I had to do a report on Don Quixote in high school. My partner and I each read half of it because the whole thing wasn't happening. I did manage to read it all years and years later, but only because I was on vacation with nothing else to do. It's not an easy thing to focus on when other things are going on.
I confess that for whatever reason Abby decided to boycott sleep last night. So I am mainlining coffee with the fervent hope that its just a growth spurt and adjustment to the crib. Please God don't let it be a regular thing!
I am irritated at my brother for being a pvssy about my Grandmother's last couple of months. She has dementia so she is constantly asking about him and how he is doing (he has a history of depression). He won't even pick up the phone and call! My mom is trying to get him a plane ticket (he lives in NYC) to come for what might be a last visit and he won't return her calls or anything. I get it, death sucks and no one likes to face that they will lose someone they love, but FFS grow a pair and get out to see your Grandmother. She loves you and wants to see you, d1ckweed.
I love coffee.
I'm sorry Betty.
I confess that I was the d1ckweed when my grandfather died and I didn't see him for a final visit. On the other hand, he did not know who anyone was. He most definitely was not asking for me, in which case I would have been there faster than thought possible.
Either way, the grandparent final months thing sucks all around. T&P for your family.
I'm planning on having my hair done approximately this color

I also reallllllly want that dress right now, but I'm going to pay off my car by the end of the month and I'm trying to be good. BUT I DONT WANT TO BE!
Thanks! I figured I needed to switch it up a bit! I know eventually sigs become white noise... once you've seen them a few hundred times.
UGHHHHHHH! I just don't understand. I can tell that it's funny and interesting, and it's not even like the language is super difficult. But for some reason, I can't focus on it to save my life. All I know is that I WILL finish it before I leave for my trip next Thursday. I'm not reading Don Quixote on my cruise!

I almost feel like you have to read it for a stretch of time before Cervantes' writing style becomes something you can read without it appearing awkward. And you have to do that every time you pick up the book. Some of the sentences are so circular and long that they yank you out of your focus.
I feel much better knowing that other people have had a difficult time. There was something about Cervantes' writing that was causing issues that I couldn't quite put my finger on (and figured it was just me being a dumb azz). Thanks fein!

Happy anniversary, Broc!
My back is killing me today. This day is the day that I rue my womanhood. Every month.
I have been hemming napkins all morning and I am embarrassed by how long it takes me to do one. It's not even like the hem is perfectly straight.
I have only made the tiniest hint of progress since talking about my clutter yesterday. I shouldn't even call it progress. I moved enough stuff around that Brad thought I had made a lot of headway. I haven't, but I'm letting him believe what he wants to.
I'm getting a sinus infection. The sore throat and swollen glands began yesterday, and sniffles/post-nasal drip started today. Cramps and nausea have all but disappeared in the last few days, so I guess a trade is good?
Last night was the first night I willfully ate stuff "off plan" - I must have had like 6 tablespoons of peanut butter (natural, but still). After the feeding frenzy stopped, I threw the rest of the jar away. Somehow, I don't think I'll be losing much weight this week.
Someone stole my last Diet Coke out of the office fridge.
I'm pretty pissed off about it.
I made it to the gym at 5 or 5:30 a.m. every single day this week, and I'm not dying, passed out, or even all that sore. I'm really quite proud of myself. I'm not even all that tired. (Granted, my treat after the workout is a Caribou Northern Lite Latte with four shots of espresso, so that might be helping out a little.)
I've been OD'ing on Britney Spear's music for the last 24 hours.
My life is one of excitement and wonder, lol
Awesome! I try to work out at 5 AM because trying to do it after work is awful. Once you're used to it it's way better. Good for you for getting started on it!
It seems to be working out. I hate to cut into the little bit of time I get with my daughter after work - half of it is spent cooking and cleaning up, so to go sit at the gym until almost her bedtime makes me feel guilty.
2012 Reading Challenge
I don't know what this means.
Way to go, Malibu!!!!
