1) I am considering getting a serger. So far, I know I'd make reusable baby wipes. What are some other things I'd make to make buying it worthwhile? I am hoping to get pregnant within the next year. I have basic sewing skills with my sewing machine.
2) recommend an inexpensive serger.
Thanks in advance!
Re: 2 serger questions
I just asked these exact questions a couple weeks ago and have since bought a serger!
The girls here recommended the Brother 1034D because it is so widely used (check YouTube...tons of how-to videos!). I do really like it and it is easy to use.
My first project was also cloth wipes, and it was the PERFECT way to learn, because you can change a setting, do one wipe, and see what it did, then change some more and continue on. I finished 32 wipes in no time. I also plan on trying to make some fitted diapers out of prefolds (similar to Green Mountain Diapers' workhorse fitteds), make pillowcases, maybe some dresses, and I'll probably use the blind hem foot for curtains.
Hope this helps, I know the girls on here were super helpful to me!

Yep!
I have the Brother 1034d and it is a great starter serger with lots of internet support.
