apparently I'm the kind of person who needs a plan, tell me what to do

My next half marathon is a week from today. I've had a cold with congestion the last week days. I still have it but I think it's getting better. Last Sunday I ran 12 miles. This past week I did 4 miles with speed work, a 4 mile run and a 5 mile run. What should I run this week?

Re: apparently I'm the kind of person who needs a plan, tell me what to do

  • If it were me, I think I'd do a couple of easy 4-5 mile runs toward the beginning of the week (like Mon & Wed), then do your normal taper at end if the week. You're not going to make any gains this week by doing speed work & you've done a 12 miler. I say take it easy & get well - you've done the work/training!
  • I usually do 4-3-3 or 4-4-3 the Tues-Thurs before  Sunday half.

  • I'm doing a half on Sunday too.  Here is my plan for the week:

    M - strength

    T- yoga + 4m

    W- 4m

    Th- yoga

  • I usually run on tuesdays and thursdays. I think I will do lifting monday, 5m tuesday. lifting wed, then 4 on Thursday and yoga on saturday morning. Or maybe friday.
