Ooo...what kind of bike did you get??
Re: +Elle+
I panicked! I got a trek dual sport, with the understanding I am getting a good road bike in the fairly near future. I decided after looking that I didn't want an entry level road bike but I also didn't really know what I wanted and didn't want to spend thousands of dollars working it out. But I needed something for spring (we didn't move our old bikes with us) and it will be nice to have a lower end bike to ride around town even after I upgrade.
DH got this, which is far more exciting (if you are into mountain bikes, which he is): http://builder.santacruzbicycles.com/builder.html?id=6
Enjoy your new bike!
The SC Tallboys are nice! I have a 29ner hardtail on order myself....

Ohh! But, we did find an awesome LBS - http://helenscycles.com/
The staff was awesome. Honestly, so many people go on about loving their local bike/ running stores and I have never had anything but bad experiences. After posting on here last week I decided to try one more time, we went to Helen's, and they were great. So helpful. I'm really excited to have found them.
Helen's Cycles is pretty much legendary. I'm not exaggerating. I live in GA and have heard of them. I'm glad that you were able to find an awesome LBS! It really does make a difference.
I think a ribbon and a basket would be perfect for your bike! I think everyone needs a great commuter/store/errand/ride with the kids bike. My back up cyclocross bike doubles as my spring and summer "do everything" bike.
