find the nest? I am nosey and found it after seeing Kate Hudson with a magazine in Bride Wars and decided I wanted to know if it was real. I had never even heard of The Knot magazine before

When I was in the first trimester of my pregnancy I was a nervous nelly and googled some symptoms which brought me to The Bump. One day I was lurking on another board and someone mentioned boards on The Nest .
Me too. A friend recommended The Knot to help with wedding planning. And I moved over from there shortly after we got married.

I found it while I was wedding planning. Then I got active on my "local" to my DW board. They were extremely helpful.
Add in underemployment, and I explored other boards. Then I moved to Japan shortly and was completely bored and alone, so I found ways to interact online. I think that's when I first switched over to nest world.
It helped reduce SPAM/Trolls/AEs because most people wouldn't come back after two days just to post their nonsense. I kind of miss the wait period now.
I think they stopped when they did a format change and people got locked out of their accounts and created new ones. Or they wanted to increase traffic flow.
