The results for the Glass City races are *finally* up (and the site isn't crashing anymore). 1:51:20 for me, a new PR since July. Woot!
I must admit it has me rethinking the full in two weeks, though. It was a lot of work! Maybe if I tell myself I can go much slower then...
Oh, but I got to run the first few miles with OSULori so that was fun.
Re: Half PR by 2+ minutes
Wow! You are getting speedy my friend! Nice work!
Thanks!
I was hoping for under 1:50, but a pesky bladder insisted I stop at mile 8, which took 2 minutes. Next time...

Congrats on the PR!
Re. the worry on the full, I think it's a different mentality when you go out for the full vs. the half as a training run.
It's been a few years, but I recall feeling exactly the same when I ran an organized 1/2 as my training run a couple of weeks prior to the full (i.e. this was so much work, how could I possibly do 2x as much, etc) It's hard to go out slow, but once you get into the groove you'll be fine. Glad you had a great race today.
Woot! Nice job!
You're totally ready for the full in two weeks. Or I'm just telling you that so you don't move down to the half.

Well, if I knew I'd have someone to run with the whole time it might not be so bad... so, 10:00 pace?
Only sorta kidding.

At the rate my knees and feet are falling apart, 10:00 pace is going to be speedy for me.
The good news out of yesterday's run is that my knee only hurts when I'm going UPhill, so I should be set.

The other good news is that our half times are nearly twins. Which means we have the potential to rock out a full around the same time, which McMillan tells me is 3:54 and change, which would be a 2min PR for me. How much would it rock my socks off to get a PR for this race I might-not-probably-will-almost-didn't-do?

So glad it worked out! I was mighty jealous of your pants. You can be jealous of my hobo foil skirt. I won't mind.

You're totally going to PR. Just hydrate like mad before you get here.
I'm still just aiming for a sub-4:00. My long run training partner just ran a 3:41 yesterday in Salt Lake. Granted, he's a lot more experienced than I am, but we match up well in pacing and training, so I think my goal is totally doable.
I like the looks of 3:54.

Tara we'll need to figure out how to meet up at the start. I'm not going to stand there talking to nobody for an hour and my running shorts don't hold a book. :z

I can't speak for K, but I felt like what I had read/been told about the course was pretty accurate. It's definitely flat (other than a few rolling hills in some of the neighborhoods) and fast-a ton of people in my running group PRed and a few BQ'ed. The first 8 miles of the half course were pretty-first we ran through Ottawa Hills (aka big gorgeous houses) and then through one of the metroparks. The last 4ish miles consisted of train tracks on one side and a fence and some trees on the other so it made me really glad to see UT's campus around mile 12.
And K...that foil skirt was pretty damn awesome. I'll admit, I was a just a leeeeetle jealous
