What car seat do you have? We too will keep the kids rear facing as long as possible.
We have a Britax Marathon 70 in my car and an Evenflo Triumph Advance in Rusty's truck. The Evenflo is getting thown away soon because I absolutely HATE it and so does Parker. We will buy another Britax.
Here are Kansas' laws:
In Kansas, a child must be in a child restraint:
An Adult safety belt is permissible all children 8 through 13 years; children 4 through 7 years who weigh more than 80 pounds, and children 4 through 7 years who are taller than 57 inches.
Parker will also be in the back seat always until he is at least 13.
This is astounding to me.
In CT:
The law also now requires that infants remain rear-facing until they are 1 year of age AND 20 pounds!
Most everyone keeps their kids rear facing until at least 2. This conversation shocks me, because silly me assumed it would be a law everywhere.

I get side-eyed all the time because he is still rear-facing and he is only 20 months.
I feel the same way sometimes... Like people think I'm strange for wanting him to stay rear facing for as long as possible.

I've never given it a second thought..however my carseat is only forward facing 25+ lbs. +, so that's not an option yet.

Here you have to be in a booster of some sort until 8 years old or 4'9" tall. And you have to be rear facing until at least 1 and 20lbs.
Eli is still rear facing. we are now debating on what to get for a second car seat because the one we have only goes to 35lbs rear facing and he is 34.5lbs now and I don't want to turn him around. Our main one is a britax and we are good there until 40lbs.
Does anyone have the graco my ride 65? thoughts on it?
We had a myride 65 and had issues with ours not tightening equally. We sent it in and it was deemed defective, so we bought A britax advocate, which I love 100 times more than the myride. I hAve both kids in advocates and I love it for both. I also feel like the seat fits a better than the myride, plus the seat is much less bulky,.

It's's our second seat and I love it! Even more than the Britax believe it or not.

And I agree. People always look at me crazy since I still have Julia rear facing.
