Good morning, back to work Monday

I feel like such an early bird starting this thread, but I am already at work and shaking off the weekend hangover.     Last week of the month is generally slow for me, plus I have my teambuilder event on Thurs and it's my Friday off, so it shouldn't be too painful this week.   Hope everyone else is ready to go as well!

Anything noteworthy from the weekend?   They never seem long enough, that's for sure!

Re: Good morning, back to work Monday

  • How did your party turn out, OPS? Did you have fun?

I have exciting news! We're going to adopt that dog I talked about last week! I'm so excited! We won't be able to pick her up for a few weeks (it's a 7 hour drive to where she's at) but I'm so stoked! Hubby's 100% on board too! Can't wait!

I did not work on my thesis and instead played a million hours of Skyrim. But I did do my volunteering so there is that.

Anyway, back to work today! Happy Monday, everyone!

I'm not always a fan of getting to work this early, but I do love leaving early.

I'm actually proud of us, we didn't drink that much this weekend! Don't faint from the shock.

We had "founder's day" in the tiny town we live next to and it was really fun, plus it was hilarious to watch D's Stepdad act like a total jackass. I always get a good gigglesnort out of watching his parents true colors shine. They try so hard to pretend to be other people, but times like this, they just can't hold it back.

We get to just sit back and watch.

That's so great, congrats about the dog!

My DH was playing Skyrim this weekend too, BTW.

I was up at 5 this morning, so my arse is dragging.  I get to leave work early though, so that's a bonus.  Weekend was good.  I ran a 5 mile trail race saturday morning, but other than that, I literally did almost nothing but sit on the couch and watch movies and rest.  I did get a couple loads of laundry done, but that was it.  I wish I could sleep in until almost 10 everydaySleep

  • DG, congrats on getting approval for the doggie adoption, that's so exciting!    Sorry you have to wait a few weeks, hopefully the time passes quickly.

Pi,   leaving before 5pm rush hour is the ONLY reason I am at work so early!

The party on Friday was exactly what I needed after a long week, it was so much fun!   There were about 10 of us, so nothing too out of hand, and we had plenty of fun playing drinking/toking games and blasting Cypress Hill and such.   I even got 2nd place in holding the longest hit.  Big Smile   I am sure the smoke is still clearing out of my house this morning, haha.

Sat/Sun were nearly perfect weather-wise so we tried to take advantage of that as much as possible.  We went to a place with fresh cajun crawfish and cheap beer pitchers and between 3 of us demolished more than 10 pounds of seafood including king crab legs.   It was so delicious and left my mouth on fire from the spice, but the beer helped!

  • Darkling - That's great news!

My weekend was good.  We went to watch my niece play in a lacrosse tournament, then both of our nieces came home with us for an overnight stay.  They wanted to go bowling and then the mall (I love that they love to shop).  Afterwards we hung out at the house, played PS3, and ordered pizzas.  I took someone's advice from here and made virgin daquiris.  I served them in our magarita glasses, so they thought that was cool.

Yesterday I met up with my SIL to drop off the girls, then I stopped at the gym for a run on the way home.  I ended staying at the gym almost 2 hours because I was so engrossed in the Flyers game and I didn't want to miss anything driving home.  So I got a kickass workout and watched my boys shut down the Pens.  Smile

    Vacation

    Holiday
  • My weekend was pretty good, lowkey, but good. Both Friday and Saturday ended up being impromptu date nights for W and I, because people bailed on Saturday. Though it was a ton of fun and really relaxing. We also got the garden planted on Saturday morning, before the rain, then I had auditions (which went really well). And yesterday I cleared out a bunch of stuff we no longer use through Freecycle.

Overall, my weekend was really good, and productive!

  • I'm glad your party went well!

I was couch-bound all weekend, but I did migrate to our friends' couch for a bit so I didn't go stir crazy.

MH drove me in to work today, so we'll see how it goes!

  • Morning!  This weekend wasn't very exciting. Mostly cleaning and doing stuff around the house. MH did take me to see The Lucky One which I really liked. And the weather has been really nice so last night we slept with the window open.

  • Ugh, I wish the weekend could last forever!
