It's movie time!!

What have you seen? What did you love? What are you dying to see? What would you rather spend the day with Sarah Palin to avoid seeing?

  • CAN'T WAIT to see The Avengers!  Dark Shadows! Cabin in the Woods!

    That's about it. :)

  • I totally read that as "moving time" and was going to congratulate you on getting away from the hotmess neighborhood kids. lol

  • I still need to see The Muppets. And I sort of want to see the new Snow White (not Disney version).
A big old middle finger to you, stupid Nest.

    Ditto all of this.

Just saw Das Boot - all 3.5 hours of the remastered version - over the past two days and it simultaneously fascinated and freaked me out. Very good film and now I'm a wee bit obsessed with submarine warfare.

I saw Mirror, Mirror and aside from the lines they wrote for Julia Roberts, I could have done without. However, it was pinky and mommy time so pinky and mommy time we had.

Snow White and the Huntsman looks good if only visually.

  • I saw American Pie Reunion because my H wanted to. Enough said.
    Bazinga!

Snow White and the Huntsman with Charlize Theron? That looks good, and I don't even like Kristin Stewart a little bit.

The Muppets was SUPER cute. I saw it in the actual theater that's used as the Muppet Theater in the movie, which was way cool.

The only thing I want to see right now is Hunger Games, but I'll see Dark Shadows as well.

Meredith's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)

  • Can't wait to see The Avengers, Rock of Ages, Dark Shadows

Never have to see Hunger Games

Recently saw and enjoyed The Extra Man, Kinky Boots and 17 Again.

We saw the preview for this and my H said, "wow, that's an interesting spin on the story.  Too bad that sh*tty Twilight chick is in it and probably ruins the whole thing."

  • I'm ready for The Dark Knight Rises.

I was also pumped for the next JJ Abrams Star Trek, but it was pushed back to 2013.

  • We have our tickets for the midnight screening of The Avengers! Can't wait for Dark Knight Rises, The 5-Year Engagement looks mildly funny... there's another chick flick I can't think of right now.

Shamefully, I think What to Expect When You're Expecting looks promising. I love Elizabeth Banks, what can I say?

Forgot about Dark Knight! And they hurt my feelings pushing ST back. I'm so ready. I watch the first one all the time and hum the theme song.

  • I don't have anything on my "must watch" list right now, but I'd rather spend a day with Sarah Palin than see the Three Stooges movie.
  • I'm not a big movie buff and most of what's been released recently just doesn't do it for me.  I'd like to see the Hunger Games, since I did enjoy that book.  I am finishing the final book right now and hating it, though.
  • I'm not a fan of Kristen Stewart but I'm going to give her a chance in SW and the Huntsman, to redeem herself and show she can act, lol.

  • I saw the Immortals and while stylistically, I liked it, it sucked.

I watched part of MI:4 but I got the heebies during the Abu Dhabi building scaling scene and had to walk away. ::shivers:: I will be finishing it soon.

Uhm, wtf else did I watch lately? I really can't remember.

All of this, but I got Muppets from Redbox.

  • I might be the only person in the world who likes Kristen Stewart. I admit she's no fine actress, but she stirs some kind of girl crush in me. She reminds me a bit of Katherine Moenning, who I also have a girl crush on. But I am excited for this Snow White movie. Probably more excited than anything else I've heard coming up this year.

Mostly I've been watching The Wire. Just starting the final season. Seasons 1 and 2 were definitely the best, but it's still holding my interest.

    Other stuff I've seen lately

Drive (did not care for the gory violence)

Young Adult (ok, but way more serious than I was expecting)

The Big Year (cute. I <3 Steve Martin, so I'm pretty much a fan of anything he does.)

    The Descendants (very good)

Hugo (ok, kind of forgettable I think)

The Orphanage (ok, not as scary as I was expecting)

  • I've recently seen Drive and Ides of March.  Drive was f*cking weird.  Ides of March was okay.

I cannot wait to see:  THE AVENGERS AND THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

    OMGWTFOMG ::hyperventilates::

  • The Raid:Redemption. Made every other action flick I've ever seen look like Woody Allen.

    Lockout - meh

Chico and Rita - very enjoyable but bittersweet.

This is my favorite movie.  I have only seen the Director's Cut, which I don't think is the same version you're talking about.  I'll have to check it out.  I was lucky enough to see the Director's Cut in a theater.  Sitting in a cold, very dark room just makes it even more gripping.

  • I also saw American Reunion but i actually thought it was pretty funny - I expected it to be TERRIBLE, so when it was decent i was pleasantly surprised. Still more of a rental movie though.

I really liked Ides of March, Drive was good too. The Descendants was good.

  • Bad Teacher. Hilarious, and actually made me like Cameron Diaz again.
    I am serious...and don't call me Shirley.
  • I want to see Hunger Games. I'm wondering how long until it isn't in theaters. lol.

I just asked the library to get the movie version of the Hand Maid's tale. It is from the 90s. I read the book so I'm curious to see how they made it into a movie.
