Mad Men--spoilers

I don't know even where to start--I loved this episode.

First of all, I am glad that Roger is getting divorced.  I think it will really help him get back into the game.  Second, I have never liked Megan.  I was glad that Don left her, but also glad that she went back home on her own.  She needs to start standing up to Don more, but since he sees or as his mother, I am not sure how that is going to go.  I would be fine if they split next.

And Peggy....do we think she is really pregnant?  And what was all that craziness in the movie theatre?   Is she just trying to find herself and in the process rebelling?

So much to think about.

Re: Mad Men--spoilers

  • LOVED this episode.  Roger on LSD, Don leaving Megan, Megan standing up to Don...

I'm also glad that Roger's getting divorced. I'm interested to see how things play out with he and Joan now that both are getting divorced.

I'm still not sure how I feel about Don and Megan, but I like her a lot more after standing up for herself here.  Good for her.  But at the end, it seemed like she just kind of caved an accepted his apology.

I also liked Cooper sort of putting Don in his place at the end.  No one ever stands up to Don Draper.  Now he just got put in his place by his wife and sr. partner in one episode.

Peggy...I think I missed something... Why are we supposed to think she's pregnant?  I was also really confused about the movie theater stuff.  Is this supposed to be another Peggy-trying-to-be-like-Don thing?

    i don't get the peggy/pregnancy reference either.

i thought this episode was just okay.

glad roger and jane are getting divorced.

i'm soooo over don and megan.  they remind me of silly, lovesick teenagers.  i wish they were getting divorced.  i'm not a fan of this don draper at all.

ewww @ peggy in the movie theater.

  • Wait, Peggy's pregnant?  What?

I was confused by the Don/Megan storyline.  Were they basically trying to say that their marriage isn't as great as they act like it is in the office?  I thought Don was a total d!ck to Megan.  I assume the two of them aren't going to last much longer.

Interesting information about Ginsberg's past.  I was getting the feeling at first that Peggy and he might hook up, but then I changed my mind by the end of the episode.

Roger's LSD trip was really interesting and well-shot...good use of Jane too, especially since we'll probably never see her again now.

I'm glad Cooper stood up to Don...maybe he'll actually care about the work now.

If there was reference to Peggy getting KTFU, I missed it. Also, I really wanted Heinz to go well for her.

Ditto Don getting pwned twice in one episode. I hope this snaps Don back to Don. I'm getting tired of this mild-mannered shadow of Don.

Roger on LSD was HILARIOUS. I hope his divorce wakes him up, too. Both he and Don were getting to be a little sad.

  • In the previews for next week, someone makes a comment to Peggy that if she keeps eating like that she will have to go up a cup size.  That is what got me thinking she was PG.

Those preview clips are always so vague, but I think that was referring to Peggy eating a lot of Chinese food and possible gaining weight?

Speaking of vague previews, wasn't there one of Betty's MIL saying something like, "They're always at the house together when you're gone!".  (I swear I saw this and it's not my imagination, ha) I wonder who she is talking about...

  • I also didn't catch the Peggy pregnant reference.

Again, another odd episode for me. I liked it, but just....wow. I'm used to things not moving very quickly and again, a ton happened in this episode. And while some of it was related (trips, going back and forth in time, end of relationships), it still seems pretty disjointed.

Roger tripping was hilarious. I also thought that it was excellently produced - usually shows resort to ridiculous visuals to express the thoughts of the characters and i'm glad this show didn't have to go there. You knew what the characters were thinking without having to see melting faces or whatever. It was nice to see Roger so happy afterwards - a truly enlightened trip I guess. :)

Peggy's movie theater experience - to me was her trying to prove she could have sexual encounters without caring about it, similar to the men in the office.

Don and Megan - God he's an a$$. I cannot honestly believe he left her there alone. Even for a minute. The fight was a relatively minor fight and he just abandoned his wife? Good for her for making her way home without him. The scene with him chasing her around the apartment was seriously frightning. He has a violent streak and I'm not sure we've seen the full extent of what he is capable of. It scares me. As for Megan, she wants out for sure. With every fight, she gets closer. In the final scene, she appears to have forgiven him, but I don't think she really has.

  • This was a good episode. I missed the Peggy being pregnant stuff too.

There is something really off about Megan. I don't know what it is about her but I just don't like her. It's like she is trying too hard or something. I think she needs to stand up for herself more instead acting out like a child.

I think Peggy is just feeling frustrated. She works so hard and gets little respect due to being a woman. I think she can only take so much and then she decides to do something wild, i.e. the movie therater activity, as her way of saying F you to society.

I want more Joan! I hope she is in next week's episode and how long it will take for her and Roger to hook up now that he is getting divorced :)

  • Can anyone tell me who them woman was who gave them the LSD? She looked so familiar.

Hmm, I missed the previews, so I didn't see what you're talking about.  The first thing I thought was Sally and Glen after how things went down last season.  But then I remembered they moved to Rye, so maybe not...?  Or, were you thinking she meant Betty and another man?

I HATE how vague the previews for this show are!  I've never seen a show be so cryptic with the previews before.

My H always says, "I know exactly what is going to happen," after we watch the previews for the next episode. lol. They are so rediculously vague.

I don't even know why they bother... we've stopped watching them, because of how annoyingly vague and non-descript they are
