Is
this the weight lifting book you use? You've had such great results with weights, and it's motivating me to give it a try and get rid of the last of this baby weight plus about 15 pounds. Do you need a gym, or can I use free weights that we already have at home?

Re: Wendy
Yep, that's the one! Oklagirl has had great results too. I finished Stage 1 and Stage 2, but am taking a break for a bit to concentrate on running (I have a half marathon next weekend, but after that I'm excited to get back to lifting!)
I would say you need a gym probably for some stuff (lat pulldowns, cable rows, etc.) unless you have like a 'home gym' setup. Even with free weights, you'll need a full set since the idea is to not just lift light weights.

I'm doing it too, and alternate with HIIT cardio a couple days a week. If I do too much cardio on the days I lift I find I struggle more.
Do it!! I'll be re-starting it in about a week. Order it now and skip the filler stuff at the beginning and we can do it together.
I'm a lazy ass about cardio. I need to start actually doing the interval training the book calls for to lose the last few pockets of fat.
And I've read multiple places to lift first (after a brief warmup) and then do your cardio, so your muscles aren't fatigued when trying to lift.
Thats the way I tried to do it, but honestly my legs were toast after lifting (particularly a B workout) so I didn't stick it out very well.
I'd get the real book. There's a lot of flipping you have to do.
Agreed. I have the kindle and it's a PITA. It tells you to do the lift on of 157, which is meaningless since it isn't page numbered on the kindle version.
Just ordered it. I'll have it on Thursday.
A propos of nothing, I think all workout books should be spiral bound so they lay flat in case you need to use them while at the gym. Books about infant care should also be spiral bound so they're easier to read with one hand while you're holding a baby.
Agreed, Kay.
How much of a time commitment is this program?

They suggest 3 workouts per week. To do all of the stages is roughly 6 months. I saw physical benefits in the first month, which is quite encouraging.
I completely agree with you on those points too, Kay. You will want to take the book for the first time you do each new workout in my experience.

I have the print book and the kindle version. Having access to it on my phone is helpful after I've already mastered the moves (so don't need to flip), but need to remember the order.
Cali, I'd say 45 mins - an hour and a half if you do the HIIT it calls for.
