Rants and Raves

I have a rant today.

My new tables were supposed to be delivered yesterday. The tracking thing said they were out for delivery at 6:45 AM. I was home all fcuking day waiting for the damn things. No UPS truck. No buzz to be let in. No note outside to say they had tried to deliver. Nothing.

Now the website says "The customer was not available on the 1st attempt. A 2nd attempt will be made."

FCUK YOU UPS. I HAVE SHIIT TO DO, SO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, YOU LYING LIARS

Ugh.

What you got?

I agree with everything that muddled said. You should listen to her. -ESDReturns

Re: Rants and Raves

  • My H was sick last week. Fullon man cold, he took a day off work and slept all day, I went and got him nose spray and OJ, etc. He offered to go get me stuff, and I said, What about a day off work. He was all, haha, wouldn't that be nice. Um, it's not supposed to be funny, douche. Though it's honestly not that bad a cold, heh.

  • Same thing happened to my H a couple weeks ago. The tracking information said the delivery should have been made around noon. At 2 pm he checks the tracking information again and it said no one was home.

His response was similar to yours: "F__K YOU! I WAS HOME!"

My boss is "working from home" this week, so I have nothing to rant and rave about. It should be a pretty good day.

Edit: Man, those censors are getting clever.

  • My rave - We just started our last wine batch for wedding favors on Sunday, which took almost all day (after we had met one of my old friends who was in town and spent the morning drinking cocktails). It's a mead, which is wine made from honey and I cut up apples and FI added nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves for spice. It smells like awesomeness, I hope it comes out as good as it smells!

My rant is that I can no longer find the colored cardstock I used to make the base of the bookmarks, which I was planning on using for invitations/RSVPs. I am going back to Michaels one more time today to search high and low for the colors - possibly in a different pack. I have already bought 3 different packs trying to match them, but no luck. It shouldn't be so hard to find navy blue and dark red cardstock in bulk.

A rave is positive, PS, so I hope you have something to rave about by the end of the day.

Broc, are you sick? Poor thing. If I lived closer, I would give you a day off. Well, maybe half a day.

  • Raves: The small children have vacated the premises so H and I are FREEEEE!

I have a tan. In Maine. In April. what whhaaaaat!

This morning's yoga class really hit the spot for me. I haven't been practicing much since I started teaching so it's nice to have that opportunity.

Rants: That tan I mentioned? It includes huge white sunglasses lines on my face. You better believe I'm bronzer-ing the crap out of my raccoon eyes!

    Rant:

WHY DOES DON QUIXOTE HATE ME?!

    Rave:

Tomorrow is my last day at work!  Then 8 glorious days in the Mediterranean... and all the free mojitos and riesling I can drink!

Unless my coworker opens a bottle of bubbly and we sneak out the side door, trip over an envelope full of money and go on a shopping trip for flatware and cake decorating supplies, I doubt it.

  • Yeah, Joaquin and I are both sick, which actually works out because all she wants to do is cuddle. Every so often she gets up and grabs the blankets, rolls around on the ground with them, then grabs a few toys and comes back. But atm it's just a nose & throat thing. Really not worth a 'day off'. So I'm pretty much calling him a p*ssy, lol. I did get a flu shot and H didn't though.

We just kind of winged it!

  • I love mead too. I have 4 bottles at home actually.......

Rant: I really hate these emotional cycles of bipolar disorder. I hate being sad and depressed for such stupid reasons, and knowing its because of the disorder just pisses me off because it's not even over a good reason. And I know that in a few days I will be fine again.

Rave: I have been tracking my cycles for awhile now and have realized that it is the same type of event that triggers the depressive cycle. I can't really avoid the event, but knowing the trigger is helping me work the cycle faster.

  • RAVE:  I found a self tanner that works really well, so my legs are not bright white!  I am too chicken though to put it on the rest of my body for fear that I will miss a spot or have dark elbows or something.

I am picking up my wedding dress tomorrow night! I can't wait to see it and try it on.  When I went to pick it up about 1 1/2 months ago they had ordered the wrong dress, so they better have ordered the correct one this time!

We have a puppy manners class tonight (first one).  I'm excited because we need to figure out how to get our puppy to stop barking and crying and biting, etc.

RANT:  I really dislike my job. I'm bored with it, but I'm too lazy to look for another one.  I like my hours and my vacation time, so that's preventing me from looking elsewhere.

I have no idea what's for dinner tonight and I won't have much time to make anything since we have a puppy manners class tonight.

  • Mine are intertwined. My rant is that I was up all night sick as a dog (tummy problems). My rave is that I'm getting a forced day off (ok, half a day, but I'll take what I can get).
    This is my siggy.
  • I'm feeling too apathetic today for rants and raves, so

Whine: My right knee hurts like a muthafukka. I have an ace bandage on it which usually helps but its not so far today. I want to go to the bathroom to rewrap it but I'm too lazy to get up and do it right now.

Meh: I made a pretty good pot of coffee this morning.

Decent: The other girl who works for my company who has the same name as me has turned out to be awesome and we spend all day emailing each other with funny pictures and stories and we have the same sense of humor. It makes the days tolerable.

    image.
  • Rant: My body feels really weird lately. I've been sick to my stomach a lot and could not finish a whole breakfast sandwich this morning. It's aggravating.

Rave: Tomorrow is my bday and we're going rock climbing!

  • Rant: I asked my professor if she would take my extra credit early since I would be missing her next class due to eyeballs being checked for tearing, and she said "if you trust me to lose it" wtf? seriously, i will just ask a friend to turn it in for me. then i just looked blankly at her and she said "ugh fine i will take it" and ripped it from my hands. I reallly dont like her, she calls you out if you get up to go to the bathroom in her class, she is really just an awful professor all the way around.

    Rave:

my fi is super sweet and awesome, he left a  picture on our whiteboard this morning that is cute.

  • Rave: My brother finished his first half-marathon last weekend.  I'm so proud of him.  The Licker family is not exactly built for running. We are super tall and have bad knees.

Rant: I moved from nausea and cramps right into a sinus cold.  Fun times!  But I will gladly take this instead. I can handle a stuffy nose and cough.

Also, even with my peanut butter blowout last week, I managed to lose a pound.  Yay!

    Look with your special eyes.

    Ahh, that's the way I cook :-P

  • Rant: Well, it's not really a rant but I don't like Bethenny Frankel and think she looks even more like skeletor than Giuliana Rancic does with a similarly freakishly alien head. They could maybe be the skeletor twins. This thought brought to you by a thread over on ML, lol. ALSO, it's hailing outside and I need to go on my 2 mile run still and I don't wanna go out in that ickness. Hrmph.

Rave: my period was crazy short this month, HOORAY.

Random: I am totally addicted to berry and hibiscus tea right now. I'm going through like a box of the stuff every four days.

  • I am still banging my head against the wall about this delivery. It came. I only knew that because I checked the tracking and not because my bell ever rang. I guess they buzzed my neighbor instead who, bless him, signed for it.

Too bad the color is wrong and they have to go back.

  • Rave: I've been cooking like crazy lately, and turning into a good cook. I've had nothing but tasty meals the last two weeks and I'm a little proud of myself for finally learning to cook things I'd always avoided.

Rant: I came into work in a good mood this morning after a crazy hard workout. My co-irker is in a $hitty mood as always, and it's starting to get a little taxing today.

    Oh, FFS.
