Jon Lovitz refers to the President as a "f***ing a**hole"

 http://www.hollywood.com/news/Jon_Lovitz_President_Obama_Verbal_Attack/25156701

Jon LovitzIn the old days, Saturday Night Live icon Jon Lovitz made a living by criticizing the antics of presidential candidate Michael Dukakis through impressions. Now, Lovitz's political target has changed, as have his methods. On the fourth episode of Lovitz's own podcast, The ABCs of SNL (co-hosted by filmmaker Kevin Smith), the comedian engaged in a heated, obscenity-laden critique of President Barack Obama. At one point, Lovitz referred to the president as "a f**king a**hole."

Lovitz went into detail on his negative perspective of the president, highlighting the latter's position on taxes. "This whole thing with Obama saying the rich don't pay their taxes is f**king b*llsh*t," he said. "If I make a dollar, and I'm taxed at fifty cents, isn't that enough? So for every dollar you make, you have to give two dollars back. 'No, that's not right. You're not paying enough.' It's half. Half! And then they go, 'The rich people have all these deductions.' Well, everyone in this room has the same deductions. You just didn't learn about it."

Although Lovitz qualified his rant by remarking, "I voted for the guy. I'm a democrat" ? does it seem like the master thespian is wholeheartedly behind his controversial statements? Or, is this just an act?

Re: Jon Lovitz refers to the President as a "f***ing a**hole"

  • Jon Lovitz is a master thespian?
  • If he wants to call Obama or anyone else an azzhole, let him. There are a few types of people I'd raise an eyebrow at if they publicly said that (prominent elected officials, etc.), but Jon Lovitz isn't one of them.
  • Who cares? Yes, it's rude, and I think he's a dumbass for saying it because it's not going to earn him any brownie points in Hollywood or help his career, but freedom of speech and all that shizz...

You're not taxed at 50%. And if you're paying 50%, you need a new accountant.

Go back to playing the "That's the ticket" guy, dude.

ETA:  " for every dollar you make, you have to give two dollars back" - that's actually being taxed at 200% so...

he wasn't saying that is what he IS taxed - he was acting as if that is what Obama wants to happen.

Hey- good for him. I have more respect for him to have the balls to say something against Obama - in such a kissass place like Hollywood.  He ceratinly CAN say it - thanks to free speech... but most would never say it b/c they are so afraid of what the liberal asskissers will do to their career.  I have never really cared much for him- but i'm proud of him for saying what he thinks.

You're proud of him for calling the President a f*cking @$$hole? Seriously?
  • Not cool.  I don't care who you are or what you think you are entitled to say.  The President of The United States deserve more respect than that.

I love you but I don't even get this what you just wrote here. Hollywood types  aren't all dirty arugula-eating hippies who shyt on cars.

I don't know. It sounds to me like he's just really bad at math.

I disagree with this.  I think sometimes the president of the United States is a fwcking assh0le.  And I think Obama's tax (fiscal) policy which has essentially mirrored Bush's does  make him an assh0le.   But I'm guessing that's not exactly the angle Lovitz was coming from.

I have to agree.  I get the office is deserving of respect, but at the same time - I'm his boss.  Although I don't think I'd stoop to calling him a fwcking arsehole; there are far better and more intelligent ways to let a President know what I really think.

Not that I am agreeing with her, but it is common knowledge that Hollywood is liberal and few conservatives "make it", especially if they are out in the open as conservatives.  Why does stating this make her obnoxious?  Or is it the slam against the office?  I am annoyed with him for saying what he said as the Office deserves respect, but I wouldnt go this far.

First, he made a career out of passive aggressive pot-shots, so it's not like he ever hid what he was thinking.  Second, he has no career to be concerned with because he's decidedly one-note.   Third, maybe most would never say it because they don't agree.  By your logic, Fred Phelps is high nobility.
