weight loss check in- anyone for sharing?

I know a few of us are trying new things to get ready for summer- anyone want to share progress?

Re: weight loss check in- anyone for sharing?

  • I started weight watchers last Monday. Down two pounds but could be doing better. Just good to know that it is working even with my terrible food last week.

Looking forward to getting shopping done today for food. I am all about planning. Using my cooking light magazine to help me.

  • I'm down 23lbs since January. This is the last week of our Scaleback competition at work, so I'm looking forward to weighing out. I had a goal weight in mind at the very beginning, and I'm currently 0.8lbs away from it.
  • I started WW the same day as kel and I'm down 4.6lbs. (down 11.6 total since Jan)  I was a food Nazi all of last week and ended up having like 30 extra weekly points, plus all my activity points, and they shifted down my point values per day this week.  So I'm going to try to do better with more evenly eating all of the points and still making good choices.

The biggest difference for me is carbs.  I ate tons of fruits and veggies before and I worked out, so I think this is the change.  Not eating lots of carbs is HARD for me though.  Shopping this week I picked up some lower carb, higher fiber bread, so when I feel like I'm going to die from needing some bread I'll be able to have this as an option instead of completely withholding.

dang girl!  Didn't realize you had lost this much, that's awesome!!

Like I mentioned last week, I'm down 10lbs since the beginning of April.  I hardly expect to keep up this pace, but I'd love to lose another 5.  I'm going to stick pretty closely to the clean eating thing, I can really tell a difference since I've cut out processed stuff.  We just started a walking competition at work, so I'll be walking almost daily with coworkers over lunch.  Which I'm thrilled to add to my 2-3 times a week gym routine, I think it will really help with some extra calorie burn.

  • re: carbs: Spaghetti squash has been my savior! I liked spaghetti squash before, but it was something I just cooked ocassionally. Now, it's once or twice a week and leftovers for lunch. Top it with light tomato sauce, sauteed mushrooms and pesto, or just a bunch of fresh veggies.

  • I reached my goal weight last week!! I'm down to 130lbs. which is 8lbs down from pre-baby weight. I'm good on weight now and my main goal is now to tone everything up.

I can't diet crazy because of nursing, but I just eat healthy and watch portions. I exercise when I can which mainly consists of 30DS a few times a week and lots of long walks.

  • I've been working out for 17 weeks now, and I have gained 3.8 pounds.  Over the last three weeks, the scale did finally budge down to pounds. But I didn't go into this wanting to lose weight, I wanted to get in better shape.

I will say, it has been really frustrating for me to work so hard and not "see" anything for it. All these people around me are dropping pounds and I'm working out and working out and I'm getting no where.

I do have more energy, and I have noticed a lot of muscle definiton, I even sent Ames and C a pic of my muscles last week haha. Finally today, someone in my office told me that I was looking "very toned" and I did a little happy dance.

  • I'm still using MFP to track cals and I've been more consistent with it. I'm also starting 30DS tonight which scares me because what if Jillian Michaels comes out of the tv and kills me?

I haven't weighed myself in a while because I hate my scale. it errors like 10 times before it finally tells me my weight.

Did you do any measurements before you started working out?  That might give you more accurate progress than the scale.

  • I swear I needed this motivation. I decided not to change my diet last week to baseline how I eat (even with traveling) and I lost 2 pounds. Not bad overall. I am excited to try new recipes and even Mark is focusing on helping me out. He needs a little boost as well.  If I plan I do well, if not I suck.
  • I was an AW last week about this but as of last Wednesday I was down 38lbs in 13 weeks. I've also upped my workouts to 6 days a week; 3 days of Zumba and 3 days doing C25K (tomorrow I do Week2Day2) and weight lifting.

I'm starting to get nervous about the summer and fall when we have so many things going on during the weekends and whether my self control will be up to par and I'll have the continued motivation to go the gym when it's gorgeous outside...it's easy when it cold and gross out there!

can you do C25K outside?  Take advantage of the nice weather?

possibly a TMI disclosure?  Whenever we're super busy and the gym gets pushed aside, I make sure we have sexy time so I can at least get a little "workout" in.  heehee.  Makes me feel less guilty for skipping the gym.

By the time it actually gets that warm out I'll probably already be done with C25K and yes probably could/will run outside...good idea! I think I'm more worried about skipping Zumba and getting off track; I'm a creature of habit so when you change things up on me it can be hard for me to adjust sometimes.

Not a bad plan with sexy time, the only problem is generally if we're that busy and/or out of town we are with other people and/or both exhausted. I would certainly say that is a delightful viable alternative though!

  • I'm down about 4lbs since mid-March. I was down almost 6lbs but then we had a really bad week (two trips to Wendy's, pizza, etc.) and I gained 3 back :(

I've been going to the gym pretty regularly, except lately with the scuba classes I haven't had the time or energy. But scuba diving earns me a heck of a lot of activity points (6 points for 40 minutes, 9 points for an hour!) which helps me out a lot.

Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
  • I've been on WW since last July -- to date I am down 32lbs from my starting weight, but losing since the beginning of the year has been a roller coaster ride.  I have been off WW for the last month, but now that vacation is over I'm rejoining on Sunday.

With the nicer weather comes more activity, so I'm looking forward to walks and bike rides and all sort of outdoorsey stuff with Samma.  We don't attend a gym, and I'm OK with that - I rather save the money.  Now if I can just figure out when to factor in some yoga time, I'll be all set!
