Booking on SNCF

Has anyone successfully booked a ticket on SNCF using a US issued credit card? The fares are so much cheaper (almost half price) compared to booking with Rail Europe. I tried to book a ticket for September and got an error message. I?m not sure if it is because my card is US issued or because I am booking more than 90 days out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Booking on SNCF

  • This is the site I need to use to book our tickets to Marseilles for next week. It's on my to-do list for tonight. I will try to post again after I've gone on the site. French banks won't let me go anywhere near them, so for the time being I still have a US-issued card.

  • I just tried again, and for some reason it worked. Same card, same everything. Our tickets from Paris to Nice were about US$120 with SNCF, with Euro Rail they would have been $108/person.
