Hi, I'm new.

I've been lurking around these parts for quite some time, and I swore I already did an intro post, but I can't seem to cyber stalk myself correctly enough to find it. So, here goes round two.
I'm an American currently living in the Netherlands with my American DH (we live here for work). I'm on the IN board regularly, but always come over here to see the fabulous projects you all have going on! I'm currently working on a crochet afghan for our apartment, but have plans to make two lap blankets (one for my mom and one for MIL) for Christmas. I love to read about different projects going on, and this board has been a source of a lot of inspiration for me, so I thought I'd come out of lurkdom and say hi...and thanks for the inspiration!

My Valentine Bookends (2~13~13, 2~15~09)
Thanks everyone! I'd love to post some "finished" pictures...but sadly, this is my first project. As I move through it, I'm finding that beginning a hobby with a 169 square afghan (72" x 72") is probably not the smartest thing I could have done! However, here is a photo of my crochet shelving that I bought from IKEA to store all my yarns/hooks and books. I have 75 of the squares finished (though haven't weaved in any of the ends...I'm going to hate myself when it comes time to finish). The photo doesn't show all 75 squares (lower left corner), because it's an older picture, but you get the idea!
I remember that I do have one finished project (though not crochet). I found it on Pinterest last year and made it for Christmas. It's an envelope advent calendar that DH and I used to write little notes to each other throughout December.
