AW: I'm a certified scuba diver :)
Today was our second/last day of check out dives. The water was 59 degrees and we were wearing a million millimeters of neoprene. We were actually pretty comfy, considering. I managed to do all the skills (including filling my mask with 59 degree water and then getting it all back out while under 20 feet of water) and tomorrow we'll get our cards so we can dive in Cancun!
This was a major challenge for me and I am SO proud of myself for finishing the course.

Stand up for something you believe in.
That's awesome!
I could never do it. I went snorkeling and nearly had a panic attack, I don't think I could manage being under water like that!
See, that would be me -- I haven't done it and I have no want to either. I give you major props, my friend! Well done!

That is awesome! Congrats on completing the course!
ETA: I hope you have a great vaca too. I'm super jealous, I need some relaxation on a hot beach time.
That is so cool! You are a rock star. Also, you are braver than my husband.
He wanted to scuba dive when he was living in Spain. He took his first lesson and had terrible anxiety about it and freaked out. Craig isn't afraid of anything BUT scuba diving. He says that for some reason, he simply can't handle breathing underwater like that. He can snorkel with no problem, but the thought of scuba diving scares the sh!t out of him.

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." --Thomas A. Edison
Congrats! I would love to do it someday. When's your vacay?
ETA: Nevermind. Totally in your ticker. Have fun!!
It was really, really challenging. I had a few major freak outs over getting all the water out of my mask and cried a few times. But I sucked it up and tried it again until I got it. I'm a much better learner than I was a few years ago, that's for sure. It's probably the most nervewracking, challenging thing I have ever done in my life.
Thankfully, the classes teach you mostly worst-case scenario stuff. Actually diving is much easier than the class.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
