so I tried to introduce Buffy to Slime....
yeeeeesh. that went poorly
So my child is obsessively NON MESSY.
One of the 7 or 8 words she knows well is "EW". She hates all things sticky. She won't use her fingers to fingerpaint. She won't eat w/ her fingers most of the time. She hates sticky.
So I, of course, decided to expose her to 'slime'
She liked the container it came in but wanted it to go BACK in the container but wouldn't touch it to do that.
The Mr. placed a small blob of it on her leg and she screamed and pointed but wouldn't use her hand to move it--because then she'd have to touch it.
So apparently my persnickety child is not going to want to make slime.
Re: so I tried to introduce Buffy to Slime....
Me too Kuus, me too.
I'm actually at the point where I'm a *little* concerned that we're headed into 'sensory issues' territory. We're still in the range of normal, but...eh,slightly concerning.
(whe she has her 2 year appt , we'll bring it up. I'm actually not talking to the Mr. about it much yet because he'll become a ball of worry and...er, there's the guilt that would come with that because if she's actually got OCD, it's HIS genes. Of course, FWIW, if we have a 2nd kid [unlikely], you know it'd be on the opposite end and be all of my ADHD genes :-P)
I've been encouraging it...taking her into the muddy back yard, giving her slime, free access to finger paints, allowing her to eat yogurt w/ her fingers...but she generally won't. Although she DOES like spaghetti-os to be worn as rings then sucked off her fingers--that she makes an exception for :-P
I think it's cute that Buffy hates mess lol. Abby LOVES mess. In fact, I just strip her down to the diaper for dinner time. She loves to wear her sweet potatoes, peas & blended chicken.
The animals have learned they can score some blobs of chicken from the drop cloth under her high chair. Lol
You can guess how often she gets bathed!
Very cute! I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.
Bubby also hates sticky or slimy things. He freakedthefuckout when he touched the icing on his birthday cake. If he gets anything he doesn't like on him, he shakes his hand/arm/leg until it comes off. It's really funny, like a strange chicken dance.
