I need to vent about work... it might be long so my apologies.
I work at a family owned business that is run by a mother and daughter. I work as a manager here. I had a doctor's appointment today at 11am and I asked the daughter if it would be ok if I came in at 12pm instead of 10am and she said it was fine. When I came in at 12pm the mother approached me in a very unprofessional manner and said that I cannot come in late that I have to be here when scheduled 10am-6pm with no break. I am here all the damn time and have not called in sick one day since working here. The daughter was right there and she never even said anything or had my back.
Meanwhile, the daughter has taken weeks off with pay and leaves at 4pm everyday. I know it is a family owned business and the rules are not applicable to them but wtf? I may be overreacting and being too sensitive but it is a joke here. I have been searching and searching for new work. I am so ready to leave this place but I can't do it unless I have something else lined up especially the way the job market is.

Re: VENT
From now on clear it with both mother and daughter so everyone's on the same page.
Hope your day gets better.

Agree with PP. It's really a 'pain' that the daughter didn't own up to the conversation that she had taken part in with you, but sadly not all people are as honest and upfront as others. Covering your 'rear' will save you from the inconvenience in the future.
Sorry you had a frustrating start to your day!
Not only that, if you can get confirmation in writing even better.

OK, so then state that in the future you will clear all time off with the mother to avoid outcomes like this one. Just stand up for yourself. you don't have to be unprofessional about it. you don't have to be a pushover either.
