@ natural prenatal vitamin recommendations
I am going to start trying to get pregnant this summer so I'd like to start a prenatal vitamin. I am a pescatarian (don't eat meat) and I eat clean 95% of the time. I've heard many prenatals are all chemical so I am looking for feedback on more natural ones. A friend recommended baby and me herb free but I'd also like some other ideas or places to see one reviews. All feedback is helpful. Thanks!

In addition to the above, you might want to check out Real Food for Mother and Baby by Nina Planck:

And I believe this also goes into nutrition in a baby-making context:

I rotated through a few different prenatal vitamins. One regular store brand, New Chapter which is sort of food-sourced - iirc, they rely at least in part on microorganisms to synthesize vitamins. I think I may have used a regular Alive multi as well which is supposedly food sourced. I took Nordic Naturals' prenatal DHA.
If I had to do it all over again I'd probably try to be more organized about getting nutrients from food sources. You might want to get your vitamin D level tested to see if extra supplementation is in order. Other food-based supplements that could be worth taking: fermented cod liver oil (Green Pastures brand) and K2 sourced from natto.
ETA: forgot one more thing... probiotics. Make a point of having fermented foods a regular part of your diet and/or supplement with probiotics. I haven't found any supplement that I personally think is all that effective, but if you tolerate dairy it's hard to beat plain kefir (tangy yogurt-like drink). Fermented veggies like sauerkraut, pickles, etc. are also easy to make (veg+salt+water and wait).
Your baby will have a sterile gut and ideally, birth will be its first opportunity to pick up beneficial microorganisms from your body so you want to try your best to make sure you're passing along a healthy mix.
Lurker here... I'm a fan of Rainbow Light Prenatal One. They have probiotics in them (how much comparatively? I have no clue, but there's lactobacillus in them). They are food based, Vegan, wheat/gluten free, dairy free, etc. They don't have DHA in them, so I also supplement with Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA (which also has vit D).
