OK, so yesterday (and many days in the past), someone got all "I hate WC, all they do is whore out their blogs, can't they just C&P the recipe into the thread?" and "OMG, I hate all of their blogs, they suck" blah blah blah.
LHC even went over and was all "I need a recipe for buttered noodles, don't link to a blog and I need pics hahahahahahaha"
So I got a little snarky and told them that Pioneer Woman probably had a post like that. A little more snark ensued. Whatever.
So this morning, I'm moderating some comments on PLFF and noticed a spike in traffic yesterday, which is weird, as I haven't posted anything new since last week.
So I follow my referral sites, and my top referral site for yesterday was this buttered noodle thread that all of ML came to see and laugh at.
I thought y'all hated our blogs, hmmmmm? Thanks for the traffic spike LHC!
karma a biotch, ain't it? ![]()
Re: ML funny
First, I love LHC. Girl crush indeed.
Second, I wish I had traffic on my blog.... of course, it would probablty help if I updated more than once a month...
On a related note, to all the bloggers out there, what's your advice to getting blog traffic?

What I find most ironic about the whole thing? The WC board is the only board that's held to the highest standard of it's name - people expect it to be THE authority on all their cooking related issues and get mad if they dont' get what they want from it. No other board is that way. Can you imagine the snark that would ensue if ML was accused of not taking a question about married life seriously!?
And I go back and forth in thinking that LHC is either cool as hell and a total unnecessary shiit disturber. Same with LTP. But I disgress.
As far as traffic goes, I think so much depends on your audience. Mine is very much meant to be public - I have very little personal info on it and it's designed to be a resource. So it's a little easier to advertise it as such - on Facebook, on WC, etc. I get a lot of traffic from submitting pictures to TasteSpotting and FoodGawker.
If you want to market your blog, I think it's imporant to identify your targeted audience - is it other moms? Friends? Then you can look at ways to reach that population.
